A 50 run partnership inside 6 overs.
Marsh hasn’t even bowled, very bizarre.
This is going far too well for us.
What are we hoping for here? A lead of 150? Still not sure there will be enough play time for us to get a result though.
I've just got in and turned it on. For those of us asking what is Moeen Ali doing batting at 3 at this stage in his career. What do we know.
So did I, and I'm pleased to admit I was wrong.I questioned it big time but gambles come off sometimes, pleased it did!
If we are in a position to I think Stokes will declare 50 ahead tonight.
I think it's bat till the end of tonight and put Aus in the morning. Gives a day to bowl them out and then rain soaked days to try chase whatever the target is. Worst case that will give Eng a draw. Batting too long and not giving yourself time to bowl out Aus is pointless. He has nothing to gain by that! Given the weather, his best bet would be to keep Bazzballing till the lead is 150 odd and then try to put pressure on the Aussies in the weather affected days (assuming the conditions assist bowling a lot more then) and try to bat only once or at worst chase a smallish total in the last innings.

He’s been so frustrating in this series because as soon as he’s looked and got set he’s then got himself out. Think he could well have managed a knock like this earlier had he ridden his luck more.Fair play to Crawley, didn't think he had this kind of innings in him.
Nah. England will back chasing whatever Australia can score in the second innings. Declaring at 50 runs lead gives England more chance of taking 10 wickets. I think Australia will bat again tonight.
I'd just throw the bat at it until everyone is out trying to get that lead as big as possible. He has nothing to gain by that! Maybe. I’m really not sure an extra 30/40 runs will make a difference though. Aussie’s are 100% going to bat for the draw regardless. Overs bowling will be crucial.I can see them batting right till the end and maybe giving them an over or 2 tonight.
That was how we feck'd up the first test. I hope we don't make the same mistake again.I think we're better getting a big enough score there's a good chance we don't bat again or if we do there's less than 100 to knock off. Just say to them they've got 2 and a half days to bat out with rain about. Putting them in too quickly is better for them mentally because they then have time and runs on their side and both will be taking the game away from us.
Edgbaston still boils my blood. Aussie tactics are so bad and they are getting away with it because of that ridiculous win
I'm in the bat all day camp. Think after tea, with the wickets in hand we'll really start smacking it around.
Try be around 100 up by the end of the day then bowl at them tomorrow.
