Come on Rooty - don’t do that to us
They do, would just be fun what they swinging the bat knowing the batters are all still to come in!They used up the new ball as well. But the tail enders will usually do better against the older ball.
Yeah that was what I was thinking too. A quick 30 would have been really goodFrustrating that he didn’t even really have a swing at it. Feels like a bit of a waste
Yeah those are the ones I’m talking about….it just seems to be something to appease anti-technology people, or to keep an higher level of relevance on the umpireThere is prediction that goes into tracking the ball from the point of impact to the stumps, so there is always uncertainty in that respect. We've seen how the ball can suddenly swing in the air after it passes the bat to the keeper, so I can understand uncertainty regarding that.
For impact I think it's just to give the umpires leeway and understand that it's a very fine margin and they don't want to take authority out of the umpire's hands.
That being said, I would much rather they move it to 25% margin rather than 50%. We've seen occasions where the ball is smashing the stumps but it's umpires call because it's just under 50%.
Yeah but he does have the odd one or 2 brain farts so hopefully he can convert this timeCrawley looks well set here. Too much to ask for him to convert this now and take the pressure off everyone else?
He is playing like he wants to take the strike off Root and score some runs. But that’s also when he’s most likely to nick one driving.Crawley looks well set here. Too much to ask for him to convert this now and take the pressure off everyone else?
You sense the tension in the crowd
Ali at three?….that went well
Australia as per usual getting the ball changed.

How do the more regular cricket watchers feel this Australian attack compared to the McGrath, Lee, Gillespie days?

Yeah I’d left him out to make it a bit fairerAdd in Shane Warne and this batting line up gets eaten up.
You would, but he doesn’t. Same with every batsman you get low scores and balance that with big ones when set. So you can’t say after a 44 “well he’s done his job”, because he hasn’t.If crawley guaranteed you 40 45 50 every single time he batted you'd take it.
