There is prediction that goes into tracking the ball from the point of impact to the stumps, so there is always uncertainty in that respect. We've seen how the ball can suddenly swing in the air after it passes the bat to the keeper, so I can understand uncertainty regarding that.

For impact I think it's just to give the umpires leeway and understand that it's a very fine margin and they don't want to take authority out of the umpire's hands.

That being said, I would much rather they move it to 25% margin rather than 50%. We've seen occasions where the ball is smashing the stumps but it's umpires call because it's just under 50%.
Yeah those are the ones I’m talking about….it just seems to be something to appease anti-technology people, or to keep an higher level of relevance on the umpire

Hit the stumps and he's gone. Have they lost their heads here. They hardly need 2 runs an over (weather dependent)

Crawley looks well set here. Too much to ask for him to convert this now and take the pressure off everyone else?

I expect Root to be out for less than 10.

He is playing like he wants to take the strike off Root and score some runs. But that’s also when he’s most likely to nick one driving.

When Crawley looks in good nick I think he just tries to force it a bit too much, nothing wrong with rotating strike and being methodical with the poor balls.

Death taxes and Crawley getting out in his 40s after getting himself set.

Australia as per usual getting the ball changed.

It’s something that annoys me with every team. England are bad are pressuring for the ball to be checked for its shape to get it changed too. If a batting team has managed to get the ball in a bad condition they’ve earned the right to cash in on the opportunities it brings.

If crawley guaranteed you 40 45 50 every single time he batted you'd take it.

There’s so many singles available, that’s what’s annoyed me about England this series. They can go 4 an over without doing anything daft.

How do the more regular cricket watchers feel this Australian attack compared to the McGrath, Lee, Gillespie days?

In terms of 2005, Gillespie was finished so I’d give this attack the edge. At their best though I think McGrath, Lee and Gillespie shade it.

You would, but he doesn’t. Same with every batsman you get low scores and balance that with big ones when set. So you can’t say after a 44 “well he’s done his job”, because he hasn’t.
