Great over that. Critical over now with Broad facing the first ball.

13 overs to the new ball. If we lose this playing well fine. What we don’t want is Broad to try something daft. If everyone fights for their life here England will make it.

Remember when 250 was plenty to defend in the 4th innings of a test match…..

How does Ben Stokes keep doing this? Phenomenal. One of the most clutch players ive seen in any sport. Obviously final over in that WC final aside.

I’m not having that England are favourites yet. Don’t care what WinViz says.

I'd love to know what the parameters are for those calculations because it wasn't too long ago England were at 25%

It’s very basic. Stokes gets out and that will move back to 75-25.

It hasn't built in the tail we have. It's a very basic algorithm they use.
Really? I thought they were saying a couple of days ago that it accounted for Lyon not being able to bowl. I never agree with it anyway.

Stokes is such a good match-player. Going back down the gears when it's the right thing to do, there's very few that think to do that.

Yeah that's far easier to calculate than England having an unknown tail expected runs.

I work in gambling for a living so happy to go into it in slightly more detail when I'm not 3 pints deep and highly stressed.

Cummins should quit captaincy after this loss, he is an abysmal captain with a great team. The difference between the aussie team with him as captain and with Smith as captain in India was unbelievable, now too he is basically a bystander completely uninterested in actually captaining.

Stokes is very much in. 45%
Pitch is favouring batting. 5%
Broad is now steady. 5%
3 tail batters account for a few runs 5%

England 60% which is essentially the projection now. But yeah, it's heavily based on Stokes.

Agree - dreadful captaincy right now.

At one point, the partnership had 80 runs and Broad had faced 10 balls. If Stokes can do that with 10 balls of Broad, then having only fielders in the deep to bowl 2 balls at Broad an over at a time is just not passing a basic sniff test -- when you have 4 wickets left

I am a neutral but I lost it at Cummins during that green over, 5 balls bowled and stokes is on strike and the idiot still refuses to bring everyone in even with Smith howling for people to be brought in. Absolutely clueless captaincy.

It’s not that deep mate, you enjoy yourself

And that is that. Ofcourse Stokes's innings will steal the headlines but wonder how long bazball will continue, I don't think English are good enough to come from 2-0 down.

Quite brilliant. But in the end he pretty much gave his wicket away.

He probably needed to start treating Broad as an equal partner in the last few overs and take the singles to be honest. With all the players on the boundary (because Australia knew he would take no singles) it became very hard to hit the gaps.

I've got no time for Australian sportsmanship giving him kudos. Means nothing if you win when totally ignoring sportsmanship.

KP makes a good point.

Australia lost the toss, had Lyon injured and have still dominated this match bar Stokes’ innings.

Easy to say in hindsight but maybe as the target became manageable he could have looked to use Broad a bit more? It wasn't necessarily boundary or bust at that stage with 4 wickets in the shed. I think you can trust Broad and take more singles. Then if Broad gets out swing.
