English cricket thread

Rishabh Pant is unbelievable.

Harsha with a great line "Leach is on.. did he just spot him on the ground?"

In hindsight, Ashwin for Iyer wouldve won us the game at this point..

Weird change again. Kept him in bowling as soon as there were two lefites around. Surely bowling him when there was a rightie and leftie better?

That slow mo looks terrible.. I have no idea why they decided to show it twice.

India doing their best to give us a tiny chance in this match - just bat normally for an hour and we're out of it!?

It would be great fun to see us chase 400ish.

Although we'd undoubtedly be 50/3.

11 more to get to 350.. will take it..
should be enough though.. plenty in the pitch for the bowlers

I don't care if it has zero bit of spin, dropping ashwin for thakur is suicidal. Ashwin as a batter would have added 30 runs here.

Now that Thakur has done his main thing, coaching staff should look to sub him off on basis on concussion and get Prasidh in the XI.

104-4 for that session.. not the worst. No fireworks.. but will take it.

To be fair, It is only because of Eng's recent chases against NZ, 350 looks like at best 60/40 in India's favor. Normally it would be 80/20. Unless the conditions change drastically, I think we should be able to defend this.

The odds have it 80/20.

England aren't getting close whatever India set from here. Massive difference between their bowling attack and NZ's where only Boult was really a threat.

I see it now in hindsight too. Ashwin the batsman is easily the better option compared to Iyer

IMO this is just hindsight bias. Ashwin's batting is not good on pitches with something for the bowlers. More tail ender than not.

Going in, Thakur seemed like the better choice(for runs, and with the assumption neither will have a significant impact on the match). Pitch seems to be turning though

This thread is just one set of fans hyping up the other team taking alternate turns

what do you think?

I think 60-40 in our favour if India get wrapped up for < 25 runs and 90-10 closer to 400.

I think we're already in India 80% win chance territory.

Recency bias is getting people nervy, it's highly unlikely Bairstow/Stokes play ANOTHER once in a lifetime type winning knock.

25 runs get us to 385. I doubt 10-15 runs over that would make that much of a difference. In any case we have 7 overs to make runs since I expect us to last a maximum of 2-3 overs under new ball if we last that long.

Thought we were on 350 by mistake..

368 now.. slow moving

That was very poor innings by Jadeja. He has these mare of innings from time to time.
