English cricket thread

Pujara and Vihari need to bat out 20 overs if they can..
That's what they are great at.. eat up the balls..

One bounce and into the hand of the fielder.
The England player(Crawley?) was being a cheat like Stokes last summer and looked stupid.

Iyers catch was 50-50 and that sort of call is dicey all the time. I have no idea if it was out or not but it looked like one of the lesser contentious calls I’ve seen.

It looked like he appeal first and then laughed it off because he found no support

Indeed. But English players don't cheat is the same meme argument from last summer that some posters on here like.

Are we really claiming Crawley cheated? Nonsense.

There's cameras everywhere so literally no point.

I need to check the score more often. I've done it 3 times today, and there's been a wicket seconds before every time.

At what point do Indian selectors start discussing dropping Kohli?..

Kohli looked good today. Was going to take a delivery like that to get him.

we are in trouble I think.

Pant and Jadeja are the top 2 batsmen in the absence of Rohit and KL.

India’s middle order is the worst in test cricket amongst the top 5-6 teams in recent years.

Unpopular opinion -- as it stands, his career is now overrated and commentary hype looks unjustified. No sub-continental player goes down as a great with a sub-50 average.

A bit harsh I think. At the end of the day his record is exceptional in every format. That's always the sign of absolute quality.

What's the backstory with Kohli, is he just past it...or?

Burnt out I think. He’s too intense to play at a high level in everything. Needs a break to refresh and recharge. I’d knock T20 cricket on the head if I was him.

Setting England more than 350 should be enough. But India would be a little edgy with less than 400.

450, game over completely.
There's too much time left -- I think we should put up 400
Yeah. there is plenty of time. I dont think we'll declare at 350 .. Just wondering at what point do I stop worrying about a batting collapse..

Fair. 350 is when I’ll stop worrying

England don't appear to have any idea or plan on how to bowl at Pant.

Game drifting away.

Good day of cricket and after 3 days, I feel that the game is still in the balance. People might see that India are far ahead, but I believe they’re not that far ahead.

Still 2 days to go, assuming no rain, that’s 6 sessions. I’d rather India bat 2 more sessions and then have a go at England for an hour or so.

Can India bat 2+ sessions and add another 100-150 runs is the big question now. Don’t want them to go crazy in the morning and fold for another 50 runs.

Ya this is correct, England just recently chased a big total so lots to play for still.

Have some waryness as an Indian fan sure...

But to suggest the game is in the balance is nonsense. India miles ahead.
