Rain in the morning and sun in the afternoonSo the weather forecast then, how's that looking?
Superb camera work picking out that las in the crowd at that exact moment
It's pretty good.
Have to say, I like Alastair Cook.
One of the great plodders of the modern game. Takes a lot of shit, but the man has supernatural powers of concentration.
Thinking of other players who played like him -- Dravid comes to mind, who else?
Trott, Collingwood?..
Cook and Dravid the obvious standouts..
Take back my thoughts about thinking this is a decent pitch. The fact we made over 300, having our top order knocked over for next to nothing, suggests this is very flat.
If ever this England team was to be capable of batting out well over a hundred overs, this is the pitch to do it.
Most recent forecasts I've seen suggest we should get the overs in, so it very much looks like 1-1, unless Clarke is silly with the declaration, or England bat better than currently looks realistic.
They want money and also England are a bit scared of what our bowlers can do.I suspect we're going to have 5 flat decs this summer. What's wrong with cricket boards thesedays?

Still Money tbh as a 5 day test = 5 days of pay.Nah, it's not just this series but pitches have become flatter in the last 10-15 years.

"Right, that's just about it for Lyth," huffs Randy. "Aside from that hundred against NZ, he's been more a liability than an asset." Not looking good for "Peanut", it has to be said. He has an allergy to good balls (and not so good ones) outside off stump
I'm not sure Australians should be allowed to name their own children.Another Mitchell takes a wicket! Terrific delivery to start up.
Be fair mate, they spent loads of time naming the Sydney opera house and their various states.
