Not convinced it's a terrible pitch. Just think it was a very good toss to win (as was Cardiff). By the end of the match it there should be plenty for the spinners.
It was very good batting by Australia too, no pointless slogging, great positioning and sensible.

Good thing for England is the pitch doesn't seem to have quickened up, as yet.
Seems wrong that you lose a review when the ball was shown to be hitting the stumps. That's an ex bowler speaking.
I'm generally in favour of things that favour bowlers but I do think the review system should be kept as much as possible as a thing for correcting obvious mistakes. With LBW, if it wasn't comfortably hitting, it wasn't really an obvious mistake to give it not out, and it's the fielding side's fault for reviewing it.
Smash 50 more and then declare? Not sure 550 would be enough to get 20 wickets but I'm not sure making teams follow on is really ideal, anyway. Better to knock another 150 in 30 overs, just to give your bowlers a brief break.
Smith is fantastic. Aussies should declare by tea or just after.

Most of the times when I have seen Ballance, he looked almost hopelessly awkward, especially in early parts of innings. But he fights it out.
