England v Australia - Third Ashes Test - Edgbeston

fantastic morning but remember you can only judge a first innings when both teams have played, but still this is great stuff

Yeah it's nasty out there and if the Aussies can collapse like Sarkozy on a treadmill, we most definitely can.

God, I've been reading too much of the fecking annoying BBC online commentators and have started to sound like them.

The Ashes battle is hotting up on the airwaves as well as the pitch after a falling out between Matthew Hayden and Geoff Boycott on the opening day at Edgbaston while working for Test Match Special. Hayden, who has joined for the rest of the summer, said Boycott's batting style "emptied cricket grounds" and Boycott promptly stormed out of the commentary box saying "don't need comments like that at my stage." They shook hands later, but the atmosphere is likely to be deliciously frosty

haydons been pretty good imo ,missed the earlier 'clash' though

I remember somebody asked what the number are on the players shirt.
This was on my orange update page and explanes it .

What do the numbers on the England's players jumpers beneath the crest represent?" asks Michael in Bradford. It's the number on which each player appears on the chronological list of all-time England Test players. Thus England's first ever Test team in 1877 were numbers 1-11 and Graham Onions, England's most recent recruit, is No.644.

England couldn't even bowl the Ramsbottom CCC XI out until Lords, where has all this come from???? They destroyed the Ozzie, could have even been 30-40 runs worse off for the Ozzie. And they have the best batting line-up in the world IMO.
Onions reminds me of Glenn McGrath dare I say. Very similar bowling action. How Anderson can even bowl straight with his action is beyond me, but as long as he keeps swinging the fecker it doesn't really matter.

with our bowlers its all about confidence with it they are great without it no consistency.all or nothing with our lot.
