Call it what you want, is it particularly interesting what term it is given? It seems to me the term itself is a theoretical or semantic debate you have more interest in than I do.

Your example is ridiculous, who is even talking about that. Who is advocating for that idiocy of going around ripping hijabs off, I am certainly not and anyone that does so is an idiot. So you've managed to come up with something totally irrelevant to what I mean when I say Islamiphobia is often used as a throw away nonsense term to avoid confronting issues. It doesn't preclude that racist thugs exist and do stupid things. But it has absolutely nothing to do with what I mean when I say there are legitimate reasons to be concerned about the proliferation of Islam, quite how you got from that to ripping burkas off heads is incredible.

Concerns about islam in the united kingdom is dangerously exaggerated.

There is however concern I have that bigoted hyperbole that says me, my kids, my family and rest of my friends that are muslim are existential threats to western civilisation.

I’ve had to deal with this crap post 9-11, and when our community gets guilt collectivised.

And now we have open terroristic propaganda in right wing press, proliferation on twitter that emboldens, justifies, condones violence en masse against a religious minority. Shit thats led to christchurch shooters.

There are many that wanna Sam Harris this stuff and treat it as some intellectual exercise while our mosques are attacked predicated on the murder of kids that was in no way shape of form related to islam.

Knife crime specifically is up (well, down the last couple of years), violence generally is way down. General crime down, homicide down.

Unless you were out there looting yourself, don't ever apologise for someone else's transgressions. It implies you all share blame because of skin pigmentation.
 
In hindsight we should have allowed the hooligan firms to continue kicking feck out of each other on a Saturday. At least they were only bothered by football tribalism and not racism at that point

Why are the police so afraid to wade into these fecking animals?

You're the one who brought it up initially and started talking about the term? So you clearly have quite a bit of interest in it?

Its not ridiculous because 2 mosques have been attacked now, following an attack that wasn't even done by a Muslim. So let's just use this real world example then. What would you call the motivation and action of someone who goes to attack a mosque?

And hijab is not a burka.

I would take that as good news, rather than police bias. Must have been relatively low numbers of knuckle draggers on the streets last night. Far right aggression is often like this. You can get the impression there are hordes of them taking to the streets but there’s actually very few, compared to the numbers that turn up at legitimate protests. Which is reassuring.
 
Be interesting to see where this goes. Conservatives have a big battle on their hands internally with this because they won't come out and back these lunatics but can't go actively against them cos they're scared of Farage

I don't actually know how this gets solved to be honest because the nutcases will moan until any non white person is gone. But the wider issue will still be there regarding integration - I do believe some areas of the country have been bad for this where parts of each city/town are quite segregated. This is down to the people moving/living there not doing their part but also the local authorities not being more involved to manage the towns
 
It doesn't matter if you were born here, moved here to work, moved here for family, moved here to be safe. You're all members of our society, and this is your home as much as it is anyone else's. To think that there's a large number of racist dickheads who look like me roaming around the country, muttering under their breath every second of every day because someone who doesn't look like me is simply trying to live their life, makes me sick to my stomach.

If I get angry about something I'm allowed to shout about it, if these "protestors" get angry they feel they have a right to burn the place to the ground, but if you're not white you're just meant to be quiet and make sure you don't do anything whatsoever for fear of some knuckle dragging, hateful, venomous mob putting you and your family at risk. I can't imagine how difficult that is for some of you on here to deal with, and I struggle to think how you cope with this shit.

Because most of the arrests during a large scale disorder are done after the event.

It depends on what you by segregation, it's human nature to want to live around people of a similar culture, language etc especially if you are a new arrival coming into a alien place. This happens across all people's, just look at how westerners that go to the ME, no one ever belittles them for doing the same things.

Secondly, why would immigrants want to go and live in areas where they are not wanted (incidents like yesterday reinforce the 'sticking together' mentality), it just feels more secure.

A lot of the post war immigration were placed purposely by the government in inner cities and imo have become some of the most vibrant places in the country. Right wing conspiracies that these are no go areas for whites is bs. Of course there are some more dangerous areas but that's the same accross the board, there are also some really rough areas where so called 'indigenous' people are the majority where you wouldn't want to go.

my worry isn’t gut rot and baz using any excuse for a fight. that’s always happened. it’s how much this kind of sentiment is seeping through to younger, white males. i’d somewhat naively hoped older generations dying out and the younger ones, having the benefit of better education, the internet, readily available and cheap travel all culminating in a far more accepting society and one that sees pretty much everyone is the same. being the kind of guy i am, i have loads of friends, and it’s amazing how many of them just trot out immigration “facts” or start to bring up tommy robinson and the likes.

deep down they’re pissed off that they can’t afford to buy a house, that their wages are low and they don’t see the lives their parent’s have as achievable. they’re force-fed how it “used to be” and how it’s immigrants ruining everything. labour have a big job on their hands to move away from the bile spewed by the tories post-cameron, but if they try too quickly, they’ll just be labelled woke snowflakes.

In the hours prior to the Capitol incident, some white supremacists Trump supporters shared a picture of their group in a gas station, they all genuinely looked like the products of consanguinity. I'm not using it as an insult, they genuinely looked like something was totally wrong, that lot would lose any race war.
