England in India 2021

So, we get a days rest, then it's all to play for on Thursday. It's going to be a riveting coin toss

Rumours a pathway for Hales to return to the England side are welcome. Hales on form is as good as anyone in the England side imo.

If Hales has a pathway, he should come in for Malan. I'm really torn about where to play Buttler, I was convinced for the team he would be better placed in the middle but he can be so good coming in at the top.

Buttler is the most rounded batsman at one-day level. He's matured so well the last 2 years - he's both someone you build an innings around and can bring others into the game. You need him batting for as much time as possible.

Imagine he'll take over from Morgan as captain at some point in the next couple of years and move himself to 5/6, until then he should open.

The problem with the England and buttler is that lower order batsman are so valuable in T20 cricket. They can make or break your inning and they've got one of the best in the world - but they rightly want him batting as many overs as possible too.

I like pinch hitting at the top, but there aren't many batsman I would trust more than buttler in the last 5

Probably Malan yeah. However, Roy also seems to go through quite wild swings in form atm.

Buttler and Roy should keep on opening. Both are great although Roy has a big weakness against spin.

I don’t really see the issue with Buttler opening. If England are chasing, he can basically win the game for them early on if he stays in. It’s not like there’s no batting lower in the order.

Unbelievable we've only won two out of eight tosses this whole tour so far.

I would like to see team batting first actually put on a decent score to defend before putting toss as major factor .

For all the faults of pay TV, Sky's coverage really is fantastic. That pre match section on power hitting was incredible.

I'm not sure I really understand the logic of bowling Jordan in the power play when you have Curran in the side. It seems like they want the extra pace, but compared to Archer and Wood he sprays it and has released pressure in both games.

Rashid getting some tap today.

Don’t know what the stats say but Rashid seems v average to me whenever I see.

Sorry but Rohit and KL Rahul eating up 27 balls for 26 runs in the powerplays are sabotaging India.

Their shocking displays are being masked by SKY going on a mad one

As wierd as it may sound we don't need all rahul rohit and kohli. Could easily drop one and play one bowling allrounder. Also ishan instead of rohit could also be considered. This looks like a fine one day batting line up but for t20s you need more explosive batsmen.

It's worse than him getting out for a duck. He's way too selfish for T20 cricket.
This is the reason there's a debate around Malan right now. If he was producing these numbers in Tests or ODI cricket there'd be no doubt about his place. But in T20 its all about pace rather than quantity so 10 off 5 is often better than 20 at a run a ball.

God this is a ridiculously tough decision. I reckon it might have burst out, but no idea what's happened behind the ball.

I think there is enough doubt to call it clean. To me it looks like it hit the turf.

Shocking decision. That's the second time an English player has claimed a grassed catch. Jesus.

I’m glad the cnut umpire could see that from 60 yards out.

how did he have any finger underneath wit his left wrist pointing outward?
