England in India 2021

Based on this test and considering the rotation policy employed by us I'd like to see Matthew Parkinson for the next game. Leg spinner for Lancs who has really been playing well in the county championship.
He hasn't mate. In fact he's hardly played in the Championship. He's been great in the white-ball comps but has hardly played red-ball (an example of the problems we've chatted about earlier, regarding a lack of opportunity for young English spinners).

Meaningless in the longterm, but you don't send out a nightwatchman on this wicket. That was inevitable/makes your better batsmen look weak.

Surely Virdee from Surrey is next in line to be given a shot and he plays regularly for Surrey and has been playing really well.

That's so bad by the umpire. If he thought he nicked the ball it's out, if he didn't then it's out LBW.

Wow umpires again saving the home team.

I'll be getting up about three hours into tomorrow's play. Can't see it still going when I turn the TV on.

England just need to find some positives tomorrow. They've already got Stone's performance. Would be great if Lawrence could kick on and get a 50 and Pope can get back into form.

Otherwise, it's a foregone conclusion. India just too strong on this pitch.

The impact DRS rule is so stupid. It's completely and utterly factual, either it's hitting them in the line or it isn't (and I don't care if you decide it should be 51% of the ball in line or 1% of the ball). There's no reason for umpires call to be there.

Think Foakes's performance with the bat in the 1st innings and the gloves has been good. Think Leach has done ok. But yeah we really need to get as many positives in this innings going into the next match.

If that was an English batsman, he'd have been out, right @Ayush_reddevil

Of course the umpire is so bad that he didn't even realize it hit the pad , he just gave it not out because of caught behind .

Are you genuinely suggesting home umpires favouring the home team is not an actual thing ? There's a reason the ICC decided on neutral umpires in the first place. They might not do it on every occasion but that doesn't change the fact that subconscious bias exists

Kohli treats Indian umpires like his subordinates, another reason for not having Indian umpires

Don't want captain's behaving like Kohli did there

Kohli was bang out of order, seems to think he can do whatever he wants.
In hindsight, maybe yes. I'll confess to not seeing all the pictures on this one until just not. I stand by the fact England are & have been too nice earlier in this Test.

Jesus. The delusion. You're genuinely the biggest whiner on here.

There is a video of the first test with Kohli shouting "Oye Menon look at this guy " from first slip when Root was running on the pitch . They are like highschool buddies

But he's not entitled to do that and neither is Silverwood. Is the decision going to be changed if they shout and scream? no. So they just get on with it.

It's just intimidating & trying to put pressure for future decisions

Class performance by Ashwin. I felt he was doing disservice to his batting but since the Aussie series he is coming back to be the all rounder he once was. I was never his huge fan but looking at his career he is a special cricketer and probably under appreciated. If he continues like this he will retire with some insane numbers.
