Real shame he missed out on a centuryNice bit of batting practise for the new boy Malan.

Yes. Feels like the proper reset innings post captaincy. Who knows how close to Tendulkar's record he can get in next year'sSo close to 250. Well played AC.
Windies are just a shambles in Test cricket.
I can't see them managing 20 per wicket, against a new ball, under lights.Calling it now. 120 for 6 at the end of the day - In their second innings
Yeah.Is too harsh to say West Indies should lose their test status?

I don't like the idea. Two tier systems result in things like Ryan ten Doeschate being statistically the best all rounder one day cricket has seen.Needs to be a 2 tier system for Test cricket. I'm sure the ICC was discussing it, not sure if they agreed on anything though.

Not sure them batting against a pink ball under lights is likely to be helpful practice, confidence building, or tell us much about their capability for test match batting.Being pragmatic, I'd have batted again. Stoneman, Malan and Westley desperately need time in the middle. Not sure if weather will be a factor in the next 2.5 days though.

England will post 550+ declared and win by an innings within 3 days.
Very good, would be nice to have a decent test before going to Australianot a bad prediction!!
Doubtful, given England have so many batting places up for grabs for Ashes tour, so will be even more competitive.Very good, would be nice to have a decent test before going to Australia
It's not ideal practise, but those 3's test scores are 8, 8, 29, 9, 25, 59, 18, 6, 1, 10 and 65. They need anything they can get tbh, the ashes is the focus. Would be worried if we're worried if our 2, 3 and 5 are so fragile they couldn't be exposed to the pink ball again. Not sure them batting against a pink ball under lights is likely to be helpful practice, confidence building, or tell us much about their capability for test match batting.
WINDIES need to find themselves one of these!
