England Cricket 2016/17 - Bangladesh, India & West Indies (ODI's only)

Regardless of the end result, what is very clear is Bangladesh have truly arrived as an ODI team, certainly in home conditions.

Their victory sending England home in the last world cup was certainly no fluke and they have gone toe to toe in every phase of the series so far.

Kumar Dharmasena and Moeen Ali has been the best battle so far.

Umpire reviews remaining England 2 (3 successful, 0 unsuccessful); Bangladesh 1 (1 successful, 1 unsuccessful)
  • Over 11.6: Review by Bangladesh (Bowling), Umpire - CB Gaffaney, Batsman - GS Ballance (Upheld)
  • Over 23.4: Review by Bangladesh (Bowling), Umpire - CB Gaffaney, Batsman - MM Ali (Struck down)
  • Over 26.5: Review by England (Batting), Umpire - HDPK Dharmasena, Batsman - MM Ali (Upheld)
  • Over 28.2: Review by England (Batting), Umpire - HDPK Dharmasena, Batsman - MM Ali (Upheld)
  • Over 28.4: Review by England (Batting), Umpire - HDPK Dharmasena, Batsman - MM Ali (Upheld)

 Umpires

How many more chances will Ballance get? Bring Hameed in and bat Duckett at 4

Couldn't agree more. Strange decision to go with the lineup they chose. They obviously thought playing Duckett would put too many 'stroke players' in the middle order and a bit of restraint was required which Ballance could give. But he needs to be in form for that to apply.

That passage of play was fecking stupid. The first Ali one looked out but he got a knick and then I can only assume Dharmasena just got pissed off that he was wrong because neither of the other two looked out.

Already record number of decisions overturned in this test, I read somewhere. Most were on Dharmasena. The guy is a joke of an umpire and steals a living doing so.

Think Bangladesh are just ahead ATM, felt England needed another wicket before the close of play

They got that wicket before the close in the Bangla captain:lol: The match is evenly poised at the moment but I think the cards are with England right now due to Bangladesh only having another 2 more recognised batsmen left, Bangladesh really need a lead of 100 runs to negate the fact that they'll be batting the final innings.

Wow England in big bother. 62/5 leading by 107. Someone needs to be a hero or this could be Test victory number 8 for Bangladesh and the first against someone other than Zimbabwe or West Indies!

Bangladesh are the biggest chokers on the world stage. Anything above 150 and England will win.

Not sure about this pitch, but I guess it makes better watching than one of these totally flat & slow pitch that does nothing for 3 days.

Are you referring to the pitch in the previous Pakistan vs West Indies game?

Edit: I mean - are you calling that totally flat and slow?

I'm in the England thread talking about the pitch England are playing on. I haven't been following the Pakistan game, but some of the pitches in the Emirates are dreadful to watch a game of cricket on from my experience. I'm not belittling Pakistan because I think they're very underrated, they've got a top test side at the moment who are on a par with the likes of England & Australia on any pitch.

Stokes is really maturing in a world class all round cricketer. If there's a better all round cricketer in the World at the moment then I don't know him. He's got the lot, fine batsman, quality bowler, brilliant fielder and excellent cricketing brain. He'd get in most test sides just on his batting or bowling alone. And to think he's still only 25! If he stays fit he'll become one of the game's greats without a doubt.

Could have done with Stokes or Bairstow batting the day out, hopefully Rashid and Woakes can

I'd be very surprised if Bangladesh get anywhere near 200 on this pitch, batting's not going to get any easier on day 4 and there's the scoreboard pressure to consider. On this pitch I think you should add 100 on the score to get a more realistic idea of the challenge of batting last.

I really don't know how you spot these things.

You've mentioned before that you had suspicions, with regards to bowlers, and shortly after they've been investigated for chucking.

The 15% rule is in place because its supposed to be the threshold where you can notice straightening with the naked eye, so there's a fairly good chance if you suspect someone's chucking they probably are. I tend to notice on DRS referrals where they run it through super slowly. I'm actually not sure if Shakib is throwing it though; his action is weird and his arm definitely straightens, but think it might be before he releases.

Me and my brother were arguing about Ollie Rayner's action the other day, but I can't find a good enough video. If he gets cited you heard it here first.
