In a manner of speaking. The owners are rich, but they don't put that into the club. When was the last time you saw Monaco spending the kind of money they spent on James and Falcao? I think following the owners extremely expensive divorce, they have been run a lot more organically.
I agree RE: Monaco. But my argument is that, that is also the stage Leipzig is in or rather slightly less so. Leipzig owners haven't really sanctioned spending on the scale of Monaco 2013. They aren't even as attractive as Monaco given Monaco's success this season. They are closer to the Monaco which finished 2nd?
That's why I argue that the only reason they aren't being 'Monacoed' is because their players haven't the breakthrough season on a European scale as Monaco have had.
I think neither club can be bullied into selling their players. I believe they operate how an organic club should in that. If fair offer comes for a player who wants to leave, then they will sell.
