Emil Forsberg

I would say having a natural wide player that could operate in the inner channels also would be an absolute bonus. Missing a wide player that can actually put in a decent cross is killing United. Often there are forrays forward that end in abject disappointment as Young balloons a ball high high into the sky or Valencia smashes the ball against the opposing full backs ankles.

Lukaku would love a player that drifts wide - taking defenders with him - giving him more space to attack and hell there may even be a decent cross to attack. The trick is try and give the opponent something to think about. If you know everything will come down the middle then its easy to set up against. As we have seen.

United need to have that wide boption - yes the days of a fella spending the match hugging the touchline are over but the wide channels are empty space in United games - unused. A bit like the two outside areas on a tennis court in a singles match.

United just dont have that kind of player or tactical want to use the width - and by god it shows.
ow i agree that it would be, my point was simply that their ant many on the market and that ideal a right sided player would be more favourable

There is no depth either wing. United have no wide players. They have players that play either side but all of them would prefer to operate centrally.

yes I agree re lack of wingers. we have a choice to make, bring in some genuine specialist wingers, or go with the modern shift in the game to have your attacking threat on the wings supplied by your wing/full backs. we don't have either right now.Jose made a big deal when he first came when he was asked about Rooney's positiion, and he said Rooney was a striker and that he wants players to play their natural position. Yet he has Martial, Rashford, Mata and Mkhi all at different times shoehorned into wide positions.

Agreed - we need the players that naturally want to be wide in the channels. Not for every game.

I dont think any of the players that are forced into the wide area positions are good enough - Martial in particualr is a lazy so and so

This guy is young, a natural winger, with good footwork and acceleration. Amazing that he is still at Leipzig. He is probably Sweden best player right now. I'd still take Rashford on the wing over him though. Rashford is much better as a Winger than as a centre forward.

Contracted until 2022, would be difficult for anyone to get... but we have no natural winger.. depending on how he does at the World Cup United should really look at him

He's no winger either. Plays on the left also, what's the point?

I think buying Sanchez and not Mahrez has closed the door on this one, unless we convert Forsberg into a CM to give us another one really comfortable on the ball. No idea how that would go, as I've only seen him off the left.

He's unusually good on the break for somebody who's not particularly quick, think it's just because he's such a good dribbler in tight spaces, there's been a few occasions where Germany have got back and tried to muscle him off the ball but he's turned and held on to it and prolonged the counter.

He's got great vision, touch and can hit a ball. Really like him.

He's got a good footballing IQ. Would do well in the PL indeed.

Really good show of all his skills today. The strike on the volley showed great technique as well.
