Elon Musk's epic bacon adventures

That's a slightly weird way to phrase it, because Musk isn't actually a rocket scientist in any way. He might know more about space exploration, but running a space exploration company filled with rocket scientists doesn't make him an expert on rocket science.

In any case, there are some obvious concerns with privatizing space exploration and colonization.

You don't have to be an expert to know more than someone.

You could know more about Man Utd than your nan, but you don't need to be an expert on Man Utd to qualify that.

Do someone mention tunnels ?

If people really are going to do the stupid lets worship a weirdo authoritarian then at least pick the guy who started off as literal peasantry and is now keeping global capitalism alive over some 50 year old white south african who's family owned emerald mines and is into cartoons.

People standard are so incredibly low.

Having more tunnels underground is a good idea in large cities and electric cars underground make it more of an idea rather than petrol engines if we're going the car route.

Underground tunnels are pretty 1890's though so I'm not quite sure of the Musk revolutionary position on this.

Underground trains yeah, underground Teslas not so much.

Imagine being Grimes and having to feck him and listen to a 50 year old man frequently making 69 and 420 jokes.

She must've been counting down the days to cash out.

@Suedesi would've done it for free.

Not exactly the worst idea given there is already a minimum age for POTUS.
I think it is a bad idea to be fair. Too much experience does not harm, too little experience on the other hand is harmful.

As long as they don't have dementia/Alzheimer's, it should be totally fine.

On the other hand, term limits for politicians (and SCOTUS) should be implemented. Something like 2 terms for senators and SCOTUSes, and 4-6 for representatives. In all honesty, good systems should not have career politicians. Half of US senators have not done any job in their life except being politicians, which makes them both corrupted and out of touch with real-world.

It would be about too much experience, it would be about eroded cognitive ability. The Pelosis, Trumps, and Feinsteins of the world aren't exactly beacons focus and clear thought.

I believe a maximum number of mandates, would have removed Pelosis and Feinsteins a long time ago. I don't like an ageist system, to be fair, and neither feel comfortable when people talk about it (despite being just 30 myself).

The Supreme Court should definitely have an age limit. It's crazy to me that these enormously powerful people are elected for life. Statistically speaking, some of them are bound to mentally decline long before they retire (or die). It doesn't matter how intelligent or bright they were at 50 or 60, by the time they're 85+ anyone is at risk. Some long before then.

Not sure a 79 year old president (who would be 86 I think by the time he served his 2nd term?) is going to bring those changes in

Musk is very much a 'fake it till you make it' pound store Tony Stark.

But that's still a pretty amazing thing to be in the real world. SpaceX is extraordinary, whether it succeeds or fails.

The character Tony Stark was an actual inventor though.

Yeah Musk is just trying to get that vibe. Tony Stark was actually based on real life billionaire Howard Hughes, a Hollywood producer and playboy who founded an aerospace company. SpaceX may be the modern day Spruce Goose.

" The Hughes Flying Boat—at one time the largest aircraft ever built—is piloted by designer Howard Hughes on its first and only flight. Built with laminated birch and spruce (hence the nickname the Spruce Goose) the massive wooden aircraft had a wingspan longer than a football field and was designed to carry more than 700 men to battle. "

It took me far too long to connect Howard Hughes to The Aviator.

Been inside the Spruce Goose. It’s colossal.

Is that obvious? He's a good entrepreneur. That doesn't necessarily make him extremely smart.
To be fair, the number of enterpreuners who have co-founded two companies that reached one billion is very limited. Elon Musk, Twitter’s CEO, Peter Thiel and Steve Jobs . I think the list ends there.

Elon Musk has done this with three companies (four if you count OpenAI where he was a chairman for some time). He is the only person ever, to the best of my knowledge, who has managed to do so. Saying that he is just a good entrepreneur is discrediting him.

And yes, obviously he is extremely smart. Building multi-billion companies is not such an easy task.
