I look like I should be the main villain of the next guy’s story.

Now that's a lord!

The fat suit with the Fire prelates helm while dual wielding colossal swords. But just to show people I have so much endurance I can wear it without fat rolling.

When I want to look bad ass, it's eitger the crucible or Radahn armour.
The fat suit was pretty handy for a few bosses. Radahn's armour was my favourite in the game.

Wow Moghwyn was weak as piss and I got over 400k runes for killing him.

I've found him the hardest I've come across so far, he's very slow but always seems to get me with some bullshitty blood loss move.

BTW did anyone else have an unfortunate episode with Boc?

Sent him away to the rebirth lady to help him with his self-esteem and then I found him rather dead on her floor. Guessing I should have told him he was fine as he was and all that kind of stuff. Oh well :wenger:

When watching a naked rune level 1 person kill Malenia on Youtube it doesn't look all that hard.

I love knight Bernahls armor, the Beast set. It's just so good also stat vs weight ratio. Looks great.

Beat it. It grew on me in the end. Would put it on par with Dark Souls 3. Might do another run as a whimpy sorcerer.

Did a stretch of PvP yesterday and as a sorcerer destroyed so many people

Got myself a nice stash of almost 70 rune arcs now.

Its definitely grown on me too. I didn't enjoy it so much at first but I ended up enjoying it more on later run throughs. Thought Id finished with it at one point but ended up just kind of carrying on and ended up sticking another 70 hours in.

Would still put it behind Sekiro, BB, DS3 and DS1, but I'd put in the same tier as those games rather than the tier below, which has DS2 and DeS in it. Think the bosses let it down, but the ease and speed you can put a build together is great.

Started NG+1 but forgot to respec before starting so I was stuck in a build I had used for Melania. The ease to get through Margit, Godrick and Rennala (so I could respec) is shocking. But the flip side is that the lack of challenge takes away the sense of achievement. I’m sure there’s loads of mini bosses I missed or areas I could explore but when you’ve got a build and armour that can make light of 90% of enemies it’s not so motivating to do it.

Maybe I’ll come back to it but I’d imagine that it’ll be more likely due to DLC than wanting to replay the story.

I did exactly like you, they went like paper to a flame. I got some 100+ hours so I'm fatigued and haven't been longing for any more NG+ run. Perhaps at NG+4-5 or so it would feel like the beginning again. I heard at NG+7 most bosses 1 shot you no matter gear, so guess that's a challenge in itself for some. NG+ is basically just better XP.

Yeah I respecced to a sorcerer build and absolutely wasted Margit, Godrick and Rennala in about 25 minutes.

Reading these posts, I think I'll start a new character instead of going for NG+.

Should I do Incantations, Sorcery or Faith though....

I've not done NG+ yet, just shelved it after beating it weeks ago.

Do I have to progress to Rennala again to be able to respec? Bear in mind I already started NG+, just haven't played.

Yep. You can respec before starting new game but once you start over you’ll need to progress the story to unlock the respec option.

You do, but you will get there in 30 minutes and also one shot it all.

Cheers lads.

I just violated the tree sentinel with two weapon art attacks from my blasphemous blade, so this won't take long
Take the front gates into the Castle for some lulz
It will take you right up to the boss shortest possible route.

Yep. Got the weirdo to open the gates, and then proceeded to murder the cnut after locking me in with that knight from the previous time. This is all very cathartic so far

It's all a bit easy though, might just go with a 99 strength meme guts greatsword build for maximum unga bunga this time round.

I’m killing a lot more NPCs this time round just for the hell of it.

Watched a speedrun today. How the hell do people even find those zips.

I might boot it up and exact some revenge, oh my god, I'm getting sucked back into it....

I’m at this weird impasse where it feels nice to do other things in my life and be happy to just chill and cook and spend time away from my PC, and get my work done without rushing, but yet still want to throw all that away and start NG+ right now.

So after completing it with Rannis line I’ve run through the NG+ instantly, beat Malenia with relative ease and it was thoroughly enjoyable to melt so many bosses that caused me so much pain in my first run.

Doing NG++ to get the platinum, might respec for it to spam some magic, not sure yet.

Back into this now. Beat the Moon Queen last night and unlocked the character respec. Level 57/58 and not entirely happy with my build. Pretty much faith and intelligence based at the mo including a talisman that bumps faith and am looking at maybe putting stats into strength so I can wield something meaty?

What builds/weapons do people recommend for mid game?

Also haven't used any of the boss souls/gems/whatever yet and I've got a double Godrick. Is the dragon arm any good?

You don't actually need multiple playthroughs to platinum the game. You can just backup your save and do a different ending each time.

Does seem an easy game to Platinum but I'm not sure I can be arsed getting all the arnaments and things like that though. I've got every trophy for the bosses and happy with that.

Absolutely wrecked Radahn and Morgott last night. The magic works well for bosses but I'm struggling to get used to how to deal with smaller enemies that get all up in your face.

Have to say, dueling outside the Raya library has been a complete blast.

Aside from a couple of tryhards who only attemtps to abuse the most overtuned/broken stuff its been a lot of fun

I have played quite a bit of PvP in earler Soulsborne titles and i have to say, this has been the most fun by far. Despite some stuff like Rivers of Blood, Stars of Ruin, Bloodhound Step and bleed in general being OP, they have done a tremendous job balancing it really.

Every weapon class seems viable in the right setup, and between the vast amounts of weapons, custom options with Ashes of War, talismans actually having quite an impact and a shitload of spells the build possibilites seem almost endless

Oh, and Dragonlord Placdusax. What a fecking fight that was. Not nearly as hard as a certain rotten hobag, but the fight itself is so fecking cool

The Carian sword sorceries are very handy in these scenarios

I played a lot of PvP early on while it was still pretty unbalanced, but even then I really enjoyed it. As you said the possibilities with builds is excellent and when combined with respeccing being so easy it’s been a lot of fun. I’ve had a lot of fun coming up with weird tactics.

Exactly, and thankfully it seems most players are going for something they enjoy and/or something cool instead of what is "best"

If you are going full sorcery build that is probably the best option, especially the great sword spells are strong for crowd control. Personally, I just used Moonveil as secondary weapon as it scales heavily with INT and its special is great to savely break guards. The Dex it requires is also useful as it influences casting speed.

Yeah I got into a massive ruck here the other night when I was summoning in some help for the boss fight. Quite enjoyed it actually.

Everyone's talking about NG+ and i'm still fecking around in Stormveil Castle.

Think I've done most bosses in Limgrave/Weeping Peninsula now (except for the dragon and the Erdtree thing), and at level 40ish Margit was much easier. Still a tough fight though.

Commander Niall is a pain in the arse. I'm not a fan of bosses spawning in other enemies. Always seemed a bit cheap. I've got his health down below halfway a few times but I'm normally out of flasks by that point. May have to wander off and level up a bit more.
