has anyone seen a clear pic? would certainly go down as a classic if he wasnt there...

Mixed views on The Official Shakhtar forum as to whether it's him or not.

There already and have pictures of the refugees in Manchester. It's ugly

Only my opinion it's not the Costa ...
Costa a little dark hair and the other

This person more Felipe Melo looks like.

Let's wait offs. disk imaging?
I think Shakhtar have to remain silent, if it's true - if not refuted.
PS: the photo of poor quality, but something a person really looks like ... well ..

Costa was not in Manchester, 100% Ray byego today is not released, but it is based.

Well, the rumours didn't come from people seeing that photo.. They were from journo's at the game, who had a clearer view of the Director's box.. And it was a couple of different journo's who spotted him. Doubt they'd all be wrong

I dearly hope it's not him. Don't want him anywhere near OT

Sanchez's the real deal this summer

prepare for a lot of crying if Sanchez is your hearts desire.

Jesus, it starts earlier and earlier.

He looks about 90

That is the worry. Certain football press aren't greatest for football knowledge. They don't know their arse from the elbows.

Its because of the hype and timing of the interest. We were linked with him, and he was dubbed "The new Anderson" after his first match in which he scored a pretty good goal. So at that point the hype was crazy, and of course being the new Anderson was a big deal back then...

After that he didnt do anything all season. He did have a period out with injury, but he came back and he wasnt scoring and he wasnt creating goals. I'd ask my Gremio supporting friend about him every week and each week he'd complain about him, saying he hopes they get rid of him. And he'd just be happy with 10 million euro if they could get that.

They didnt get that and a bigger european club didnt sign him. Sure he has the clause to compensate Gremio, but my friend lists a good 4 or 5 players that I've never even heard of, who Gremio have sold with the same clause. They do it for a lot of their players, not just for Costa.

With how he was going at Gremio, its possible another season there and the likes of Shaktar wouldnt have been interested either. So I dont think its odd that the deal happened, but if he came good it was going to be a short spell there

That makes a little more sense of it I suppose, cheers for that. I'd still have thought Gremio would have held onto him longer with a view to getting a bigger fee for him seeing as he was just 19, I'm sure they must have had experience with players being inconsistent at that age before, but maybe that's just not the way things work in Brazil.

It is yeah. It's a really bad photo tbh, he doesn't look like that at all

Well the photo from OT isn't very easy to make out, but the guy in that pic looks to have a higher hairline than Costa does in the pic you posted. But then again, we don't even know for sure if this guy in the white jacket is who the journos have been referring to.

Very true..

Doesn't look like him, who started this story?

Journos at the game

Well in that case, he is probably as good as ours, looked like they were giving him something at the game tonight, maybe it was a goodbye present. Welcome to Manchester Douglas

In addition, there was the unexplained presence of Douglas Costa in the directors' box.

United officials were unable to shed any light on why the 20-year-old Brazilian was present, although Costa was surrounded by enough advisors to suggest he had not merely excused himself from duty with Shakhtar Donetsk to watch the team so heavily linked with him a couple of years ago because he fancied a day out.

Think it was ManUtd.com guys rather than MUTV guys that were saying it, as well as Telegraph and Guardian journalists.

the newspapers just got if from the manutd.com/mutv guys though.

Ahh really? Well then I'd have a lot less faith in there being anything to this. Are you sure of that, though? The journalists do attend the games, it is plausible that they could have spotted him independently of the club's journalists.

A bit impossible to say really, a few of them tweeted it at around the same time
