That would be an amazing summer but sadly there is no way in hell we'd sign Sancho, Grealish, and DVB this window. We very well could get one of them but both DVB and Grealish would be redundant.
Of these three, I'd put Sancho and a CB as the highest priority with DVB & Grealish the lowest.

He’s been playing as the deepest CM for Ajax recently I believe. Never seen him play that role myself though.

Samuel Luckhurst has also reported in the last week that Solskjaer will play Fred as his regular holding midfielder in the new season which makes sense if he wants to implement a high press regularly.

The point with this is having good cover/competition for Pogba and Bruno, improving from Pereira/fred/mctominay/lingard/mata. Not reapply improving starting 11.

I would say that a pure midfielder (not a DM or 10) is probably the best for depth at the moment, so I find it a little strange we’re going to spend £40 million there. Pogba and Bruno are the first names on the team sheet.
I don’t watch Ajax, but he seems to be described as what I think McTominay should be aiming to become. A box to box midfielder who can help create and score. I think this must be an indication that Ole seems him as a DM.

Fabrizio Romano retweeted Gerard Romero on VdB, perhaps a slight possibility it might happen... perhaps it will not.
Ian Wright a month ago claimed he heard VdB to United will be done. Lots of signs but no concrete done deal tweet just yet.
I would have preferred Grealish ideally, who can play 3-4 roles at a very good technical level.

Hopefully will turn out to true. Will be really pleased we're not wasting all our time on Sancho and are up there to sign other players. For 40m I'm definitely all for this to happen. More depth is welcome.

He starts off deep but he attacks from there. Lisandro Martinez, a DM who can also play CB is holding and the other option is Edinson Alvarez. He's playing more of the Pogba role where in terms of stating the formation, yes he's playing in the 2 of the 4-2-3-1 but he's able to get forward from there while the other DM is expected to do more of the defending. So the Pogba role that Fred played while Pogba was injured.
