I would be surprised if Koeman went for him. He wasn't a regular in the Dutch team. The only argument could be the combination with de Jong which worked well at Ajax

Think VDB would tear it up in the prem. Technical, surprisingly strong, intelligent. Would give us excellent options in midfield.

He is not a Matic replacement. Plays more as an 8. At best is cover for Paul. He looked good at Ajax 2 years ago when De Jong, Tadic and Ziyech were outstanding. They made him look good. At best he would be a squad player

Easy to know why we are interested.
Post-corona you could make the case that our biggest weakness has been the huge drop in quality when we sub off one of our attacking players, especially Bruno, which has lead to us running him into the ground by overplaying him.
And for how much would Ajax aprrox. hold out for him? Blowing 50 mill for a squad player would be excessive
If he plays as 10, he'd be willing to graft as much as Bruno, at least, even though he's not as good on the ball.
And at worst? Not the most encouraging report.
Spurs already have Lo Celso and Alli n that position but he does fit Jose's idea of a hard working #10 though.
That's a really expensive bench option.

Doubt we’re in for him. Very mediocre player and not what we need.
He's a bit better in the box than Bruno and more likely to keep the defence occupied if Martial drops deeper to get on the ball but that would rely on delivery from the wingers and full backs, which United don't currently have a lot of.
Depends how much we are paying though. Anything above 30-35m is way too much .
What other player do you think we can bring for cheap but not compromising the quality ? A decent midfielder outside of epl is going to cost minimum 25m.

Grealish isn't going for less than £60m so we can forget him.
If he's happy to come play that role I"m all for it. I'd be very surprised if no other club are in for him at that price though
Knowing our luck with injuries, he'd play quite lot of games, next season.
At this point, and if we are indeed signing van de Beek, we should forget about Sancho.
Think he would be another signing of the Schneiderlin level. Probably not what we need. Could be wrong.
