I’d agree with this but hopefully he has another gear to go up. I like his work so far.

If we had the money. Since we haven't sold anyone, I believe we will move to lesser targets. Maybe VDB + negotiated price on Grealish + 1 more signing.
 
would love him here. Dont understand why people dont rare him I have always been impressed by him when I watch him
 
fecking hell. We keep moaning our bench strength is non-existent and when we are maybe possibly in for a good player to strengthen squad, we have lots of sad bastards moaning about that too on why we are paying X amount and making some conclusions already on how average a player he is. A player we may or may not sign. Also I guarantee that if he goes elsewhere, same bunch will be moaning saying why we didn't get him, he looks class etc.
 
Would make for a useful addition to the squad I reckon, but way, way down the pecking order of priorities in my books.

Something like that would make for a decent 'Budget' window mind if that's what we're going for, with a view to bringing in a Sancho-esque superstar or two next year.

There's no doubting that our bench needs major surgery.

A guy can dream.
 
I have no idea what to expect of him if he signs, honestly can’t remember ever seing him play.

Schneirdelin was an excellent player when he was at Southampton. I will forever be mystified by how underwhelming he was for us. Just never made the step up.

What is it with you people, you moan the squad is crap, then when we buy a good player to improve the squad you also moan, this club cannot win. I'd much rather have him play for us than another season of Lingard and Pereira.

That being said, nothings concrete yet, i would assume either us or we are being used to hurry Spurs up, if Barcelona definitely aren't interested.

Yeah it was strange, lots of us wanted him and there was excitement when we signed him. He just looked completely lost and TBH I blame that on LVG, think he over confused how he wanted him to play, but saying that he's been awful at Everton too.
 
Rather Grealish but if we’re getting him because he’s cheaper. I’m all for it

Don't get me wrong. For the right price I'd take him provided he accepts he is a squad option not a regular starter. He is certainly better that Pereira and Lingard
 
Not convinced by him. We are all desperate and thirsty, but not ideal for me. His technical level is not elite to me. I want a DM or playmaker type

How's his work ethic? I know he has a good touch and good short passing range, what are his strengths?
 
Not someone I’ve seen in the Dutch league, unsurprisingly, but judging from his performances in the Champions Legaue he’s a good player that we don’t appear to need. Looks like a box to box midfielder when I’ve seen him play. Maybe he’s a cut above Fred and McTominay, but we do at least have those players and there are other positions where we have no options at all. If he turns out to be one of several incoming that’d be fine, but not a priority signing by any means.

They want much better players than James/Lingard/Pereira but for less than 25m. So VDB is around 5m too much. They’re also worried Grealish may be too good for the bench. They need to be cheap and far better than what we have but not so good they’re too good to sit on the bench. It’s a very difficult thing buying players.
