I think most people's arguments is that we want to see him getting the chance to offer us something, not some minutes here and there, but some actual consistent starts, and with both Fred and McTominay out, who btw have offered very little themselves particularly Fred who is awful, genuinely what is the point? If we actually start him properly and let him get some matches under his belt, not a few minute sub appearences which he isn't even getting, gladly get rid if he isn't good enough, but even that isn't happening. Why didn't we sell him to recoup some money and invest in a midfielder that we'll actually play

We could have easily sold him this summer because there were many teams interested and reinvested that money into another midfielder, it makes no sense to keep him until January where his value will decrease even further cause he won't play at all and we probably won't invest that till next summer now.

I doubt we would ever play a midfield of Pogba & VDB. Neither of them can win the ball. It has to be in place of Pogba's position in the midfield. But since the places in attacking line up are really crowded now, he can only do it by dropping Pogba on the bench. I can only see him getting 30 minutes or backup role at best. Not sure what chat Ole has had with him and how he has been promised more starts. We won't drop Pogba or Bruno for him (unless Pogba stinks up the place in a midfield two).

He IS being touted as a 6 but I imagine that's more like Paul Scholes kind of 6 who always paired with someone like Carrick, Fletcher etc. So you are right he won't replace Matic, he can play with Matic/Mctominay/Fred.

Find the outrage at the lack of game time for him odd. He's clearly not shown anything in his limited starts (and probably in training) to suggest he should be starting yet apparently we should give him a game. Also find the 'yes he's not been very good but we should give him a run of games to prove himself' argument a little strange. If he gets a chance he needs to take it when it comes. United aren't there at his service to enhance his career, it's up to him to prove he's worth it.
Donny is a squad player currently. Its up to him to take his chance when he comes of the bench. He's not done anything to start a match yet.
