Donald Trump - GUILTY!

More insane footage.. :wenger:

It's crazy how close this came to being much worse. If that mob runs into one of the enemy (which at this point definitely includes Romney and probably even Pence), they're probably not going to stop before that person's security has had to kill a few of them - if then.

Pretty devastating stuff. Can't wait til Trump's two buffoons attempt to refute this.

They can say whatever they want. They could talk about something completely different. There won't be enough Republicans willing to vote for impeachment.

Highlights the importance of Georgia flipping the senate. If Mitch was in charge nobody would be any the wiser to any of this. It makes you wonder just how much crazy evidence would have come to light in the last impeachment if the senate was Democrat lead and even a shred of evidence was permitted.

So im watching it and its very evocative and thought provoking. Only thing is, I feel like its going to be falling on completely deaf ears. Like, the lawyer is giving some quite emotional statements, appealing to the hearts of the senators. Unfortunately 50% of the senate lack hearts.

Absolutely. It is beyond a miracle how few casualties there were in the end.

Sigh.. of course. Although I'm amazed they lasted this long tbh.

Regarding Trump's role, I don't understand why these commentators on CNN are saying this will change minds, , I think it'll be really easy for his followers to rationalize. My crazy uncle who lives in america is already posting "yeah it was bad but they did because they wanted to, nothing to do with Trump". They'll just repeat this 1000 times in their heads and move on.

So basically, Pence or his security detail saw this tweet and realised that Trump had tossed Pence to his rabid followers and it was decided without any delay to get Pence the feck out of there.

Nic fecking Cage would turn down a script with that in it.

Crazy that we were just one senator away from perhaps never seeing those videos that were shown today.

A lot of videos of what happened, not a lot of links to Trump being responsible for it.

Yeah, if only there was a video where he said "We are going to the Capitol" to "fight like hell" multiple times. But without those the case just falls flat , indeed.

Nice summary video here on BBC from yesterday's videos shown at the trial. The rioters got ridiculously close to Pence, representatives, and senators. The GOP are beyond spineless, they won't even vote for self-preservation.

@UncleBob , I hope you're wumming. Trump told them, with words, to do this at the rally. He got directly involved in the planning of the route of the march to ensure it went to the capitol when they were refused permission to march there.

The fact that they're all swaddled in Trump flags might be a bit of a clue too.

Link?

He’s either being difficult for the sake of it or he’s a raging Trumper. Who knows?

I definitely say the former considering Trump spent over two months vehemently and viciously denying the election results and spewing hundreds of Tweets saying it was stolen and won fraudulently and that the only way to take back America was to fight.

He made daily TV appearances ranting and raving about the fraud and how Republicans would have to fight. He liked and retweeted thousands of Tweets from anyone who said the election was stolen and an uprising was needed to take the Presidency back again and he continually promoted the March to the Capitol on January 6th. Twitter had spent weeks flagging or removing his Tweets.

Finally, at the rally prior to the assault on the Capitol, he gave that speech that has been broadcast around the world hundreds of thousands of times and been quoted in every major news article concerning the events of that day....

But yeah, these Republicans (and Uncle Bob) still want proof.:wenger::lol:

There's a bit of a difference between the links and your claim.

Trump told them, with words, to do this at the rally

Everyone knows he's a complete nutjob

It was an excellent team goal but Solskjaer shouldn’t get any credit for it. He didn’t tell them, with words, that Shaw should do a 1-2 with Maguire, then pass to Fred who should back heel to Pogba who should spray it 60 yards to Wan Bissaka who should cut it back for Greenwood who should use the inside of his boot to curl it in off the far post.

He didn’t say to do any of that, he just told them to go out there and play fast attacking football.

Being difficult for the sake of it, then.

In the words of the expert in this article, he's agonizingly close to a convictable offence on something that is extremely rare to be convicted for. That's pretty damning.

Edit: And let's be realistic for a second here. Which sentences do you think the Trumpers focused on?

Fight like hell, we have to stop the steal, we're going to the capital, I'll be right there with you, or something right at the end of the speech about being peaceful when he's already riled them up to hell?

Surely the family of that copper who died are just waiting for this farce to end so they can bring a real prosecution.

Not entirely sure you understand what Epps is saying, but the point he's making is related to It also has to be likely to cause violence, whereas you're making it out as if his tweets, and entire process, was intended to cause the violence that happened. That the issue is the lack of time between the speech and the protest, with people potentially being riled up, that's the link.

Not entirely sure why it's perceived as being difficult asking for information from the bandwagon.

It's being perceived as difficult because the information is literally everywhere. It's ridiculously easy to find.

It’s never wrong to be part of the common sense bandwagon.

If you think the genesis of 1.6 could only be from the speech on that day, that shows a shocking lack of common sense. Trump fomented this discontent since his first campaign for president & was pointing to 1.6 being the day for the insurrection to occur. This was a deliberate plan over many years with the crescendo being the storming of the Capitol.

Looks like Trump tweeted his attack on Pence after being told Pence's life was in danger. I cannot tell you how despicable that man is.
