Donald Trump - GUILTY!

How come none of the pearl clutching, God, Country, Family, republicans seem to have any problem with their dear leader screwing pornstars behind his wife's back part of all this?

Lets see if Biden doesn't die before 2024
The same could equally apply to Trump, he's almost as old, eats mostly junk food and being in front of a judge and jury isn't gonna do wonders for him either

Because he gave them what they really wanted - Supreme Court justices that would strike down abortion and keep the ability to shoot the kids

These feckers never seem to die. He seems to be in fantastic physical shape for his age, while Trump is a fat tub of lazy lard who eats fast food and yet they both keep ticking. Look at congress/SCOTUS, full of old husks who never seem to die. Meanwhile my BIL who has always lifted/run/swim/bike and eaten extremely healthy has what is likely terminal cancer at 40. Nothing makes sense.

when you’ve got that mushroom, it ain’t fair to waste it all on one bint.

How will this affect the upcoming elections?

Will this whip Republicans into a fury? A harbinger of the woke mob rising to extinguish the flames of conservatism?

Feels like a win for Republicans to me unless I'm missing something.

Even if this doesn't draw out hordes of MAGA undead to the ballot, the Trump vs Republicans battle will peter out as Trump fights the charges and the Republicans rally around him knowing he wouldn't be able to fight the election anyway?

Too early to say, my guess is that there will be many more indictments to come - think Trump gets the nomination and loses in the general

TBH there isn't another Democrat that's probably capable of winning at this time, as long as Biden doesn't have any major health issues or huge gaffe I can't see him not being the nominee
He needs to boot Harris out though. This won't make Clyburn and his gang happy, but the fact of the matter remains that people just do NOT trust Harris to pick up the torch should something happen to Biden. Even among black women, I would have had more trust in Susan Rice as VP than Kamala Harris.

This black woman certainly wouldn't have.

Because Trump is living their dream life.

What a depressing post...

So sorry mate hope it turns out to be treatable:(

Whenever I see Lindsey Graham all I can think about it is the story of him describing a copious amount of moles in an, err, intimate location as his "ladybugs". Deeply troubling.

I mean that Rice's resume remains far impressive than Harris' own resume when you look at Rice's achievements for over 30 years in the business of working for Democratic administrations. If I had to choose someone between black female candidates for VP and possibly POTUS in the event that something happens, Rice comes across as someone who can navigate through troubled waters better.

Anyway, I'm steering a little off-topic here.

Hope things take a turn for the better, brother. Thoughts are with y’all.

No it's fine, but I don't really care about the "credential" aspect of her 30 years of experience when she was the national security advisor under Bush.

I'll take any sort of democrat over republican any day of the week, and Kamala Harris is to the left of any sort of blue dog democrat, regardless of where you'd place her politics.

I believe you are thinking about Condoleezza Rice.

Susan Rice =/= Condoleezza Rice :nono::nono::nono:

edit: Susan Rice served on President Bill Clinton's National Security Council staff from 1993 to 1997, then as the assistant secretary of state for African affairs at the State Department from 1997 to 2001, then as foreign policy advisor to Democratic candidates John Kerry and Barack Obama, then as Ambassador to the United Nations, then as National Security Advisor in 2013, and now is the Domestic Policy Council in the Biden administration. If you list her achievements, you can find things like the the passage of the African Growth and Opportunity Act, championing human rights and anti-poverty agendas, elevating climate change and LGBT and women's rights as global priorities, and committing the U.S. to agreements such as the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty, Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, and the U.N. Millennium Development Goals. She also had her hand in the Iran nuclear deal of 2015, the US response to the Ebola epidemic, the reopening to Cuba, and the Paris Agreement on climate change.

He has beat it twice but has been told to put his affairs in order. His wife is my sisters best friend who we took in when her parents died, and we consider her one of us. Her brother (older so did not live with us) died in an accident this weekend. It just makes no sense. Thank you all, I just needed a vent somewhere.

All the best mate.

Will this end Donald T political career?

Politics is the only legal defence he has. So as a lifelong criminal destined to spend the rest of his days fighting one investigation after another, he'll never give it up personally.

Can someone explain to me like I'm 5, what the difference is between getting indicted and being arrested?
Saw this today in the NY Times about indictments in New York:

An indictment, whether it is handed up in federal or state court, is a formal accusation — not a conviction — and it is among the first moves a prosecutor can make to bring a case to trial.

When a person is indicted in a criminal court in the United States, it means that a grand jury composed of residents chosen at random believed there was enough evidence to charge that person with a crime. Such panels, generally convened by judges at the request of prosecutors, meet for weeks, and can hear evidence in a variety of cases. The judge is not present during grand jury proceedings after the jurors are chosen, and jurors are able to ask the witnesses questions.
Unlike a criminal trial, where a jury has to reach a unanimous verdict, a grand jury can issue an indictment with a simple majority. In this case, there were 23 grand jurors, meaning at least 12 had to agree on an indictment.
Grand jurors hear evidence and testimony only from prosecutors and the witnesses that they choose to present. They do not hear from the defense or usually from the person accused, unlike in a criminal trial where proceedings are adversarial. (Defendants in New York have the right to answer questions in front of the grand jury before they are indicted, but they rarely testify. Mr. Trump declined.) That one-sided arrangement often leads defense lawyers to minimize indictments and argue that prosecutors could persuade jurors to “indict a ham sandwich,” a proverbial phrase that former Vice President Mike Pence used on CNN Thursday night.
As in other criminal cases, the exact charges against Mr. Trump are under seal and will not be revealed until he is brought to Manhattan Criminal Court for a formal arraignment, which is expected to happen on Tuesday.
At that point, the indictment will be unsealed, initiating the case’s next phase. Prosecutors will share their evidence with defense attorneys, who often ask a judge to dismiss the case on various legal grounds.
A trial is not guaranteed and may not be scheduled for months, as both sides will most likely argue over the merits of the case and what evidence can be presented to a jury

Same.
The Mexican president that oversaw the violent clampdown on students in the 70s died recently at over a 100 yrs old.
Only the good die young.

Too much baggage from being in the national security apparatus during Clinton and Obama admins and Rice didn't have that network that Harris had from Howard and her AKA sorority. Plus, since Harris ran in the primary, she had national name recognition which Rice wouldn't have had and when people asked "who is Rice" there inevitably would have been some that confused her with Condoleeza (just look at the post you replied to) and others that would have seen Clinton connections and been vociferously opposed. While Harris has been a dud, no question, from a 2020 political perspective, she was a much smarter strategic choice than Rice would have been. Rice might have been a better VP but she certainly wasn't a better VP candidate for the 2020 election.
