Calling him a cult leader is giving him too much credit. Trump first and foremost sees the presidency as a bonanza for him, his family and friends.
He peddled his influence and got deals for Ivanka and Jared ( billions from Saudi Arabia).
Sold access to himself through MaraLago and his hotels. And used the presidency as a shield against his legal troubles.
He throws anyone under the bus if it benefits him. That includes the American people, by selling us out to Russia in exchange for help with elections.
He tried to weaponize the government against anyone he didn’t like, then caused an insurrection to try to hold on to power when he lost the election.
And at every step of the way, he is fundraising off of it.
Every one of his decisions can be explained thus: how does it benefit Donald Trump?

I'm sure he views everything as a potential fundraising scheme. That said, although it will galvanize his base, it will be far more damaging to any independents out there.
Promoting his mugshot now could also backfire spectacularly once he gets charged in other cases (GA vote count, Mar-a-lago classified docs, Jan 6th etc)
We will see how it goes for this week. I sincerely hope he gets the South Korean treatment for criminals when he will later get indicted for very serious shit related to the 2020 election and January 6.

That's how you should treat an indicted president. Same outfit, same rules as anyone else going in court.
