Republicans don't have to be good in any of these things, their voters don't care either way, they'll still vote R. They rely on this, apathy from many voters and gerrymandering/voter suppression.

One nice thing about Graham is that he brought his 13 yr old sister up alone as a 22 yr old after the death of their parents so fair fecks to the guy in that respect.

There ultimately needs to be a 2/3rds majority for this to stick, it's not happening, move along, nothing to get excited about here.
It doesn't necessarily matter. If the Dems can convince a substantial majority of the US public that Trump broke the law, then even if the GOP don't convict in the senate it'll hurt them badly in the 2020 election.
