He’s not good enough
Few times he got in got in one on one postions and just stops and passes back.
We need a LWB that can drive forward and beat a man when we get in to them postions.
His natural instinct is to play ball inside or backwards
His decision making is woeful.
It's not really reactionary if it's December and he's been shite all season, is it?So reactionary here, if i was told to play the other wing and mainly on my weak foot, id look awful too. He looks so much better last year when he got to play his side but hes sacrificing for the team and i appreciate it
He hasn't really played in his position though. Im confused why he has to be left and maz right but hey hoIt's not really reactionary if it's December and he's been shite all season, is it?
Yep, not sure about him even as a right back but would be nice to see him play at rwb more in the coming monthsZero contribution across a fair number of games in this position. He’s a good player, but he’s definitely not a good LWB.
Never been. If we had money we should spend it on a LWB in JanuaryHe’s not good enough
Good observation. It’s why height isn’t always a good metric on aerial ability. Martinez also punches well above his weight/height in aerial duels.Feel like a dick joining in on a pile on but need to get this off my chest. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a defender who is such a consistently poor judge of the trajectory of a football. He’s tall and has a great spring on him but seems completely incapable of timing that leap so he’s at his maximum height as he gets to the ball.
Got into my head after the Arsenal game and now I can’t unsee it. It’s wild how often this happens. City goal was an example, then 5 minutes later Doku floats a cross to the far post and sure enough, he sails through the air, misses the ball completely and midget Silva beats him to the header.
Someone like Amad is the complete opposite. Makes the best possible use of every inch of his height and punches well above his weight.
I suffered the same affliction myself as a player. I think Hojlund has the same issue too. But it’s a fecking disaster for a defender to have this specific flaw in their game.
He isn’t a lwb. He isn’t a lb. Play Shaw at rwb and his performance will drop significantly. That being said, some of Dalot’s defending and passing are horrendous.Never been. If we had money we should spend it on a LWB in January
He is poor wherever he plays. And it is clear that he will never start as RWBHe isn’t a lwb. He isn’t a lb. Play Shaw at rwb and his performance will drop significantly. That being said, some of Dalot’s defending and passing are horrendous.
It's not but I've seen him play LB very competently before, playing as LWB I can understand why he'd struggle but he was playing as bog-standard full back under Ten Hag this and his performances were well below par.He hasn't really played in his position though. Im confused why he has to be left and maz right but hey ho

When I played as a goalie, one of my CB constellations was a 195 cm huge guy and a 175 cm thin and lanky guy. The tall one was terrible in the air, whereas the smaller was quite brilliant.
Dalot’s intensity is also an issue. When he plays with high intensity as he did last season, he is good. When his intensity drops, his awareness, vision and defending goes out the window.
Dalot shouldn't be starting ahead of Malacia on the left. He's certainly among the players that needs serious upgrading on. I'm afraid Amorim has him down as one of his most trusted players.
More and more we look at this the three most sellable assets who seem not to fit Amorim’s team pattern or ethos(less so Dalot on that as he’s very much a good egg) are ;There’s a reason LWB has been identified as our biggest weakness.
He should be a squad player who backs up at RWB - and even that is pushing it.
He absolutely isn't fecking great though is he? Last year was the really first where he was above average amongst our own team and being one of our better players last year is equivalent to being one of the tallest pygmies in the village. He's obviously not helped by having to play on the left but in this system I'm not sure he can have a major role and the way he's performed for most of his time at United and this year especially he wouldn't have a role in a truly good team. For the first time in a long time you can see the makings of a good team but the wingback roles are clearly the first of several areas where significant improvement is needed. He's fecking great, people here are too reactionary and lack critical thinking.
Because Mazraoui is a better player overall. Playing on the left doesn't justify some of the crazy passing across the backline he often does, creating panic needlesslyHe hasn't really played in his position though. Im confused why he has to be left and maz right but hey ho
Same here.I must watch a different game as I thought he was he was good over all. He started shaky but tracked back well, should energy to put pressure on the opposition to help us win the ball back and tried to be progressive with the ball going forward.
All this while playing on his wrong side and adapting to new tactics in what is the probably the most demanding position in this new system.
I echo the managers sentiments in that his drive and passion are and important part on the new side he is trying to build at the minute and I’m sure his performances will reach previous levels more consistently.
He can literally push the ball pass the defender to beat him for pace, and then lose the ball..... despite knowing his own intention and which direction he's going... no words.Just look at last week's game when in the 90th minute he sent the ball into low earth orbit from the edge of the penalty area with at least 3 United players around him in much better position to either receive a pass or shoot. Comical
Same here.
He’s a good team player.Same here.
The feck he isMalacia is the better wing back and should play more when he is fitter.
He’ll be awful at RCB. He’ll play everyone onside. This year with ETH, he was playing as an inverted Lb. Now he is playing as a LWB. He is not good enough for Lwb. But at least yesterday he gave a 5.5 performance, which is OK for a player playing out of position.
He needs to improve his positioning a bit so he can play more as a RCB as well.
Maybe cos Maz has worked his bollocks off and actually put in some superb performances across 2 positions? Whole Dalot has been..........well availableHe hasn't really played in his position though. Im confused why he has to be left and maz right but hey ho
