Decided to punish myself by watching the highlights on MOTD. I forgot about him bottling the header on the edge of our box in the build up to their third goal.

He has regressed since he has been played out of position on the left.
And was not great again today.
Mazz is a better player for me so when Shaws fit Dalot is a squad player

A terrible season so far.

Just when you think it's coming together for him he then can't kick a ball or defend for months.

When Shaw is fit? So what one or two weeks a year?

Definitely not a left wing back, that's for sure. He can do a job as a conventional left back in a four but the wing backs need to do a lot more in this system.

That period after Bruno went off where he was our main attacking threat was painful, and it was obvious we weren't going to score that way.

The gall on him to attempt that shot at the end.

Does he have no shame?

I'd get rid of him ASAP. We need way better than him.

I feel for Dalot. I think he lost all the form he built up last year by being asked to play on the left.

Right now, he is having a terrible time. Would like to see what he could do at right wing back if given a run there.
It certainly doesn't help, but he had a weird run since just before the World Cup where he looked like he was about to become a world class RB before the slide began, a slide for which he was still being praised.

His versatility has been a hindrance to his development, ironically enough.

He is a RB, not sure why we play him at LWB. He was bad enough at RB, but is useless as a LWB. Just bench him.

I can't wait until we can field a left-footed player at LWB consistently. Watching Dalot there does my head in. I don't even particularly blame him for it either (in general). It's not his natural position, but he fills a gap there, even though it's not great.

That shot in the end was dire though. The kind of thing that needs to be coached out of the entire squad.

You’d think no. The amount of times he raises his hands to acknowledge his feck ups and still continues to make the same mistakes defensively is a dead giveaway that he’s indeed pretty shameless.

Christ almighty you lot all have short memories. One poster saying that AWB was always the better player.

Has he been good under Amorims structure, absolutely not, but the amount of tripe being thrown about here, give your heads a wobble.

Wasn't only a few months ago, he looked like the only decent player under ETH before he was sacked.

To be fair I've been calling him 'thick' on here consistently since the beginning of last season!!

Just painfully rewatched the game again and noticed how Forest targeted his flank in the second half cause they knew he was the weak link. On the 50mins mark, he brainlessly charged into a challenge he wouldn't win which left acres of space for gibbs white to cross in and Wood almost scored. That pretty much sums up Dalot as a player - Plays with very little game intelligence and is hilariously poor at reading the game.

The way he defended at their third goal is unacceptable. He casually strolls back, all the while Martinez is passing him like Usain Bolt, then half arsed attacks his opponent, wow, if i would be boss i would really have to fight with myself not to go the to cabin and fire him on the spot, but most certainly i would talk with Amorim and make up some bullsh1t excuse to the public to not undermine the coach, so this guy is out for 2025 no matter what.

I've never really understood what anyone sees in him and especially managers.

He's too stupid to play at right full back which is a) his position and b) apart from goalkeeper probably the least complicated position to play.

People saying he's out of position but must be forgetting how whenever he's at right back he spends more time in midfield getting in everyone else's way than he does in his position.

He played at right wing back in the europa league recently and played the opposition through on goal with a 60 yard backward pass from their half.

He has the thing bad attacking players have where you dread the ball going to him or relax if he's on the other team.

I'm also sick of the amount of times the opposition come forwards and the camera pans to where Dalot should be, and he's not there, or is but is running in the wrong direction.

He also highlights our lack of leadership because at least 5 times a game he does something where a team mate should be shouting in his face.

There are things stopping him from being a top class fullback but I can see why he’s regarded highly by managers. His touch is usually very good, two good feet, pretty strong, never injured, very fit. He’s got some good attributes but it just always falls apart for him with the end product. Like Onana you’re never quite convinced he’s not going to do something stupid either.

Yesterday had a great example, he’s strong enough to burst past a couple of players and carry the ball forward but then instead of passing he makes a really stupid attempt at goal.

At this point I’m not convinced he’ll ever be a top class player. A more aggressive wingback would be a lot better for us in the long run.

I don't even think he's an average full back never mind top class.

I agree he has attributes in terms of ability, but he can't put a performance in on the pitch that doesn't amount to a collection of calamities.

Its not just his decision making going forwards. It's his decision making in everything. I'm nervous if he has the ball on the half way line, or near his own goal. I'm nervous whenever he has to defend. I'm nervous about him being in the right position when we have or lose the ball. Every time he has to do anything I'm worried.

These aren't good things. Lots of teams have fullbacks who can stay fit and not play like an anxiety attack.

He either thinks he's a LOT better than he is, or is just genuinely useless at following basic instructions/routines

A lot of the praise he received was because people hated AWB so much so they overrated anything Dalot did in comparison to him.

Now that we have an actual top class full back is clear as day how bang average Dalot is. He’s one of the only athletic players we have in the team and that’s the extent of his usefulness on the pitch, in terms of actual ability with the ball at his feet he’s wank.

I think Dalot is one of our saleable players and I could see a few takers, should he be made available. Can we find better alternatives to play WB positions - based on this season alone, the answer would be yes.

He's a capable full back but his attacking outlet is really poor and he's just not convincing in a United shirt under a couple of managers now. Needs to play in a less intense league.

Positionally he's a mess and he's one of the worst performers at the moment. Sadly we are so light in the position he's got a free hit to be crap every week.

Let's have it right he's been average for years, these performances aren't unusual it was his purple patch which was unusual. He'd be one for the exit door for me.

Re-watch the entire sequence leading up to their 3rd. It's infuriating.

His effort sprinting back is a complete joke. He then loses a 50-50 challenge and then doesn't get out to potentially block the cross.

It was a calamity.

He's maybe the stupidest player we've ever had.

Easily our worst player of the season so far

When he received the ball on the edge of the box and blasted it into row Z with 3 other players in much better positions made me want to both laugh and cry at the same time.

It absolutely infuriated me

This is a player who has been at Utd for nearly 7 years and has scored 1 goal in that entire time at Old Trafford. And he thinks the best option in the 90th minute when we're losing, is to ignore players in better positions and instead try and score from 20-25 yards out.

I think it was my breaking point with him. He's spent all season doing utterly braindead things on the pitch but that really was unbelievable.

We should play Maz at LWB. Really sick of seeing Dalot on the pitch.

Dalot has improved a lot and surpassed expectations. But he is not good enough to be a starter for United if we’re challenging for top 4.

Wing back is too important a position in Amorim’s new system for us to persist with Dalot.

I’m sure Amorim realizes that himself. But Shaw just cannot stay fit

He’s in a bad run of form at the moment but there’s obviously a player in there, he’s shown some proper form in the past and he’s one that should clearly kick on under the new regime. Arguably our most athletic player in an era that relies on that more than ever and is a huge part of our new manager’s system.
Am still a fan and said previously Madrid would come calling. Of late he has started games well (monstered Wes Burns v Ipswich at opening) but even I am concerned that he lacks the composure or vision in the final third to seek out the cutting edge or, indeed, simple pass - should have switched play to Amad v Forest.

45mil for the best high-fiver in the league? Feck off Madrid, we want at least 80m.

You really have to wonder if its some weird mental block with this team. Surely it's not physical as I'm sure they're more than capable of putting in the hard yards for their respective national teams but my God when they put on that United shirt, it simultaneously turns off the brain...well at least for Dalot

United tax ?

The fact that he's deemed "not for sale", seems like MUs staff aren't watching the same player either.
I think he’s deemed not for sale because he hardly gets injured. If we have a reliable option for the left wing back role, he’s off.
