Marseille to make 4th offer for Dimitri Payet that meets West Ham’s valuation
Marseille are expected to make a fourth offer for West Ham United’s attacking midfielder Dimitri Payet in the coming hours that will meet the Hammers’ €30m valuation, allowing for a deal to finally take place, according to RMC.
The clubs are still negotiating, after a third offer from OM worth €27m was rejected last Friday.
The Hammers are demanding for €30m and talks are fully expected to have resumed today where OM are set to make a fourth offer that meets the valuation set by Bilic’s side.
Marseille know that the sequence of events that have taken place in recent weeks concerning West Ham, Bilic and Dimitri Payet ensure that the French international can conceivably never play for the Hammers again, and are looking to use that in negotiations.
It is working, West Ham set an initial price of €40m for Payet, then down to €34m, and now down to €30m.
Payet is ready to fly to Marseille as soon as possible. He is currently training with the West Ham U23s and has already given his agreement to join Marseille. His family is unhappy in London and his close ones want him to return to the South of France. From a financial perspective, all the agreements have not been finalised concerning a contract between the club and Payet, but once a deal is reached between OM and West Ham, it should not take long at all to complete.
