I do think that Berbatov is pretty much indefensable at this point. When you have to bring up a game like Bolton, where he did all, then you really are clutching at straws. Is he a very good player? Yes Has he been at United? No It is really that simple he doesnt fit with the style didnt last year, and even more so doesnt now. In the end he was a really poor buy much like Veron, not because he cost a lot, but because he didnt fit in and wasnt really needed.
Going back to his purchase though, I blame the whole thing on Tevez. He missed the first match of the season to go home and see his uncle or something for family matters. Now not that I dont have a heart or anything but Tevez seems to have no problem with his baby mama raising his kid while he frolicks around with supermodels, so I dont exactly consider him the most oriented family man, just a selfish footballer, like many today. Regardless, that 1-1 draw v Newcastle on the opening day highlighted the lack of attacking options available to SAF on the day, Ronaldo was out(and at the time reported to be out til mid december) and tevez wasnt reliable, espiecally considering all the WC qualifying. I seriously believe had Tevez stayed in Manchester that weekend and United skullfecked Newcastle say 5-1 or something that SAF would have told Levy to feck off and one of two things would have happened Spurs would have had to keep the unhappy Berbatov or they would have sold him to United or another top team for a much lower price, or perhaps he would have ended up at City on deadline day as the rumors go. Quite amusing when you think that Berbatov could currently be at City adn Tevez still at United hahaha.
