Oh I spend loads of time on here, you got that right.

Hence, it's easy to spot a sad sack like yourself whose only contribution to the forum seems to be whining about one specific member of the team (along with this recent diversion into juvenile homoerotic insults)

Let it go. Tevez wanted to play for City. Berbatov is here til the end of the season, probably longer. You really should at least try to talk about some of the many other talking points that comes with being a fan of this club. Surely you've got more to offer than all this tedious sniping about one player?

Yes. And I do. Sorry about your failure as a human in the world.

Just answer me one question. When Berbatov starts, do we play better?
I didn't say it was the defining reason, I just posted up some stats.

The thing is that Berbatov is still very much in Fergie's best 11 - by that I mean that in the big games for large parts of this season SAF has shown a propensity to play 2 up front consisting of Rooney and Berbatov. That means that when Berbatov plays he almost always plays as part of the club's current strongest 11 which means, being United, the team tends to win. Hence it when you look at the stats, it appears as if we win far more games on average with Berbatov in the team.

Giggs---Rooney----Valencia

That'll be the front 3 against Milan. No way will Fergie not play Giggs (Injury permitting)

Not sure at all about that - SAF has definitely shown a tendency recently to start Giggs on the bench in European games and bring him on as someone who has the ability to change the game United's way.

The comments in the matchday thread after he missed that sitter were painful to read.

Awesome player, and Fergie is the one who agreed to value him at £30M.

That was a lovely finish. It was also some of the worst defending I've ever seen.

Agreed. Great play and a nice finish, but the defending was comical.

Berbatov was decent today, showed a few nice touches here and there but was relatively quiet.

lets not jizz ourselves, we need to see that second half against champions league teams and I mean great european teams. Only then can we be satisfied.

Yes nice touch to put Valencia through and did well for his goal. First half miss was painful.

I totally agree, and it needs to happen more consistently

That was magic of a highest order... is he from Brazil or Bulgaria ?

He's a producer of many clear chances. He can do it so easily.

Excellent vision. Even Paul Scholes would be proud.

I agree with Pogue. I think Berbatov can be a fantastic player but he played with his head down for the whole of the first half and looks terrified at times.

Some lovely touches today and good goal. Something tells me that big guy that wears 32(Goes by 'The One') could be a bit of a challenger for his place tho, really looked a handful when he came on.

With Rooney in such phenomenal form it only highlights futher how lacklustre Berbatov often is for us.

I thought Berbatov was dire for most of the game today. His confidence is shot, he looks a shadow of his former self.

Thank feck he scored again. Hopefully that gives him something to build on, mentally.

He was pretty poor but the goal should give him the confidence to improve. He has a stupid tendency to disappear for large periods of the matches.

Thought he was awful in the first half. Sublime for about 15 minutes in the second before being taken off. Reckon SAF had a word with him at half time which may have peckered him or gone out there with a point to prove.

Barring the equaliser against Sunderland I can't remember a single important goal he has scored for us this season. Always scores the 3rd or 4rth in a romp. Needs to do much more IMO.

Last season i think he got the winners against Bolton and MB in the league and even assisted with a lot of our goals during our 1-2 nil winning run. This season i think hes started of the scoring in a few of our high scoring games where the game looked tight

Blackburn opener?

Stoke opener?

Berbatov has been less than impressive for the most part. He has great skill and poise but lacks hassle and barely ever contributes with a match changing goal. I just can't see SAF continuing with this experiment next season unless Berbatov improves a lot the rest of this season.

Blackburn opener?

Stoke opener?

Burnley opener too.

People get this idea built up in their head without really analysing the facts.

He was involved in more important(i.e first or winning/equalising) goals all last season than anyone else, iirc.

It has been a stop start season for Berba - Im not sure if he is 100% fit even at the moment. If he needs surgery then he should go and get it sorted.

Being in and out of the team does seem to be affecting his confidence - but he clearly is still capable of doing something special and that is what I want to focus on in this thread!
