Did he really play for them?

Didn't Cole and Yorke both play for Sunderland at the same time?

^at Blackburn they did.

Phil Babb and Brian Deane at Benfica.

2 time Uefa cup winner and former Sampdoria, Sevilla and Juventus midfielder Enzo Maresca for WBA.

Former Bolton defender Bruno N'Gotty strutting his stuff for Milan.

Brian Deane also played for Sunderland!

Not surprising considering he played for just about everyone it seems. I remember when the A-League started and he was supposed to be a 'star signing' for Perth Glory, he was utter cack.

Wrong.

Babb played at Sporting and surprised everyone by actually being very good. He was at the center of our defence with former Ac Milan and Brazilian internacional André Cruz in the last time we were champions. Played around 50 games and scored 2 goals. We tried to renew but he ended up going back to England and joined Sunderland.

Ah yes. I was thinking of Michael Thomas.

Oh yeah that guy played for Benfica. He was terrible and basically everyone made fun of him. Besides Brian Deane, Benfica's british imports were all crap. Mark Pembridge, Dean Saunders, Scott Minto, Steve Harkness and Gary Charles, jesus what an horrible team Benfica had on those days

Very nice thread.

Esteban, not sure if he has been mentioned for his spell at Madrid

Then there's the question, is there any player from the mid 90's who hasn't played for AC Milan?

Of course the famous players like Rivaldo, Redondo, Davids, Kluivert

But also the infamous Bogarde

Michael Reiziger too

Not living in the UK or Germany, Paul Lambert winning the Champions League with Dortmund has always truck me as quite odd

And then the man who, while he played for the fecking dippers, is one of my top three favourite players of all times. Champions League legend Jari Litmanen

had a stint at Barca. And he even signed for Fulham once (never made a first team appearance because of an illness or something)

Now you got me questioning myself:lol:
I swear he never appeared for us in a competitive game, but you were there so just my THC riddled memory letting me down.
I'm sure it was a league cup tie and it seemed to me and my brother at the time that no one would pass the ball to him. I'm gonna have to dig out my old programmes now haha

Na mate, my apologies! He appeared against Bournemouth in the league cup, you win:) I was actually thinking of David Platt who never made an appearance.
With hindsight I think it was a mistake letting him go. He was the type of player that United love. But Platt as well.... I forgot about him!
