Television Dexter

Season 2 and 4 were my favourites. 1 I liked but the rest all were poor. Hannah made me like season 7 a bit more than I probably would have, wasn't that fun to watch.

Quinn is such a dick. I really hope they end him mid way this season, so annoying. I liked the ending, keeps it interesting. The Deb stuff bored me to be honest, I like her on my screen cos she's good to look at but it was boring to watch. Hopefully she snaps out of it and becomes 'normal' again. Masuka only had to be in the episode for 15 seconds but still had the best line

Beyond a point every series, even good series like Dexter, becomes repetitive and dull. For Dexter, that point was somewhere around the end of season 5.

I don't see that happening with game of thrones mainly because it won't be repetitive.

Yeah, Mad Men/Sopranos/Game of Thrones aren't gimmick shows.......once a gimmick gets stale, and the it's the WHOLE selling point of your show, theres not much you can do......but milk it if it's successful.

What was the fecking point of going through all that retirement bullshit with fat Batista only to have him come back as a cop :wenger: ?

You could say that about so many things in this show

What was the fecking point of going through
  • Lumen
  • Angel and Maria having an awkward affair
  • Angel opening a restaurant
  • the Ice-trunk hand collector guy (Tony?)
only for
  • her to suddenly just go "ah, no more drk passnger lol, cya"
  • them to get divorced
  • him to unretire (man, that one can be applied to loads of things)
  • him to be killed after like ... 5 seconds
etc etc

I think Lumen had a bit of purpose but agree with the others.

Noticed they're trying even harder to force unnamed black cop lady on us this season.

Did she thought? I mean, if you go skip from the ending of four to the beginning of six, what have you actually missed? I think he mentions her twice in the next two seasons and that's about it. Maybe at the time she had an effect but to me she just seemed a way for them to fill up a season, it seemed to pointless if they weren't going to continue her plot, and the way they left it was such a cop out, I mean seriously, she literally went from "kill everyone" to "Nah, bored of this" in the space of around 30 seconds.

Oh, I forgot Brother Mouzone, feck sake, it's a sign of how awful season six was that he was probably the best thing about it, but again, kill him off mid way through and forget all about him.

EDIT: Oh yeah, and the burning corpses dude they decided to introduce with three episodes left last season, cause they killed Isaac by episode nine (best character since Trinity) and probably realized they had nothing to fill the remaining episodes with.

Convinced there have been major changes in the writing personnel since the beginning or they merely ran out of ideas and got lazy. Consistent, it has not been

Detective Angie Miller.

She's gonna die at some point, just like the previous two black detectives

Cina !!! Good to see your (our) usual optimism about this show

...oh yeah. That was such a pointless and boring story in the last season that I'd completely forgotten about it.

"Uhh guys, we've just killed Isaac off and there's three episodes left"
"Shit, really?"
"We need a new bad guy to fill the gap or we're fired."
"Fire..."
"Some sort of fire guy?"
"An arsonist!"
"Plot twist, he's the one invesigating the fires..."
"Genius!"

------------

"This Batista storyline is great!"
"Yeah I bet the viewers can't wait to see how his restaurant business goes"
"We've got so much to work with here."
"So next season, Deb fecks off...oh shit we'll need a new Lieutenant."
"Umm...Masuka?"
"No, feck it'll have to be Batista."
"But he's retired!"
"...."
"We un-retire him"
"Genius!"

That's definitely how it went.

"Hey guys, who introduced this Louis guy?"
"I did, boss."
"why?"
"Uh, I dunno, just ... cause ..."
"Hmm, right well, let's make him weird so, erm, how about he is fascinated by Dexter or some shit."
"What, why?"
"I dunno, cause, have him steal the ice trunk hand or some shit."
"Any particular reason?"
"yeah cause he's obsessed with Dexter ya fecknut"
"but..."
"ok, have it so he's making a videogame."
"a videogame?"
"Yeah, that'll work, a videogame about Dexter"
"uh, ok... and then what?"
"huh?"
"what happens after he shows him the game?"
"feck ... I dunno ... um ... just fecking kill him! the viewers will love if we just kill him off while it's getting interesting"
"Genius!"

 Solius and Cinna.

It's interesting that usually I get linked with movies/TV shows/games and remember the details but for many characters you mentioned I had to think a bit before realizing who they are.

It is such a weird TV show. My personal favorite, season 1 and the season 4 were some of the best piece of TV show I have ever seen. Season 2 was pretty great too. But that's it. Season 3 was a bit average though not shit. Season 5 was completely pointless, why did they make it, that was the point. And the only good things about last season were Isaac and Yvonne. Even Deb finding out that Dexter is a serial killer wasn't interesting.

And season 6, holy fecking Spaghetti Monster. How on Earth a TV show that has such masterpieces as first and four season, had such a terrible horrible shit crap fecking shit again season. Probably the worst season I have ever seen.

So the point is, why the TV show didn't ended after season 4? It surely would have been remembered as one of the best TV shows ever if that was the case.

All of the original writers left after season four.
I've heard that mentioned a number of times, but the most recent episode was written by Scott Buck, and I'm fairly certain he's been there from the beginning.

Actually, I just wikipediad it, and apparently Scott Buck came on in the 2nd season. Nevertheless, he's been around since the early days. That same article did mention that a number of other prominent players, including the show runner, left after season 4. There certainly was a noticeable drop in quality after that season.

I loved the Lumen story personally, It was redemption for him after Rita.

The whole thing with Dexter and Deb is one of the weirdest tangents they ever went off on.

I'd expect Vogel is the one behind the gun on the disc and obviously it'll all eventually lead to her trying to get Dexter to kill Deb. Maybe she's got a few more patients too?

We can only hope that by the end of the season Quinn is on the end of one of the most brutal murders ever. fecking Quinn.

I hope it isn't her because it would be a cop out but I was thinking it maybe her cleaning up some mess she's created throughout her career and using Dex, her one success to do it.

Decent episode, Rampling is definitely a good addition to the show.

El Sappo not just killing Deb was stupid, if he was following her he must have known she was a PI/ex law enforcement but just lets her see who he is and walks off.

Elway seems like he could be okay, but I can't take anyone called Elway seriously and I wouldn't let my kids play with him either.

Angel saying he still thinks of it as Deb's office was weird right, surely he would still think of it as LaGuerta's office as she was in there much longer.

Quinn knows something is up with Deb it seems, ff this series ends with Quinn getting a big promotion on the back of bringing down Deb and Dex while having awesome sex with a beautiful women I'm going to start a new Harry's code that allows me to kill other killers and Dexter writers.

I love how Jamie and Quinns idea of hiding their relationship from Batista is banging loudly at his house and having Quinn just sit outside the house picking her up for a date.

Sadly these depictions are spot on.

Decent episode.

The Quinn/Angel/Jamie stuff is a bore. Hopefully they all die, especially Quinn.

I'm thinking she's behind it too, although I hope it's not her. Question is, why would she be leading Dexter in a game to catch herself, unless she's a psychopath and enjoys that kind of shit? Even if she's not the killer, she definitely is an interesting character.

Vogel is the main antagonist of this season, and I'll think that she's a psychopath too. Dex will kill her and after he kills her maker he will lose the need to kill anymore. I expected during the entire show that Dex will either become a sane person or get dead, but after the last season I thought that the possibility of him becoming a normal person was low. Who knows now, though?

Anyway, the big question is why Vogel is doing this, and what are exactly her plans with Dexter.

Reminds me of South Park when Cartman is with the film directors as a robot and starts making up Adam Sandler movies.

I don't mean to whine about this show so much, but Christ, that episode was boring apart from around five minutes of it towards the end.

And we better not be in for another unbelievably obvious twist circa season six, which seems to be the way they're going so far and after two episodes people already have it pretty much figured out.

It was funny how in Season 6 it had gotten to the stage with Travis' mentor that the twist was so obvious that people were assuming the directors were doing it on purpose, with the real twist in the end being that there was no twist...

I could understand if the new writers came in and were inferior to the previous ones, but it really is at times like they've just employed a load of retards.

That being said, I enjoyed the recent episode. The stuff between Vogel and Dexter is miles more interesting than the interactions between Deborah and Dexter - the latter of which being one of the most painful things to watch on television given the context of previous seasons, Deborah herself and the bastardisation of Dexter's character during those scenes. I know they've been trying to make Dexter more human in recent seasons but the stuff with Deborah in particular doesn't suit his character at all.

Agreed again with the general consensus regarding Quinn. I hope some seriously disgusting shit goes down there if it comes to his demise. On that note though, didn't Quinn pretty much clock Dexter in season 6? I'm sure it got to the point but whereby it was obvious, only for him to drop it because of his relationship with Deborah. I know you could say it about a lot of things but it seems so much like it never happened that I dunno if that's just something I've made up.

I dunno the feck happened with him? He was a likable character in the beginning and very competent and he almost caught Dexter, but after that he has become a total useless annoying cap whose existence in the TV show is meaningless.

I could have been able to do that El Sapo part, easiest actor job ever.
Dunno, Deb can hit hard.

Thought this happened, yeah. I'm sure it got to the stage whereby Quinn knew with pretty much absolute certainty that Dexter was fecked in the head, but now it's like they're 'bros' or some shit...

Yep, he found a man which knew something for Dex (I think) and was going to meet him, but Dex killed him or something and his blood then fall from the van into Quinn's shoes, Laguerta arrested him but Dex changed the proofs and saved him. After it, he become useless and annoying.
