Television Dexter

He looks daft, but I sure as hell wouldn't like to be woken up in the middle of the night to that thing staring at me

And telling you to "Run". It's amazing that on this show they seem to get to little villains really spot on in terms of creepiness.Another I liked was for instance Boyd Fowler in season 5

Speltzer stuff was good, Dexter's impression

Isaac is the cheesiest villain ever though. "I WILL AVENGE YOUR DEATH". What the feck is that shit.

I think Isaac is the most menacing character the show has had since Trinity. Speltzer was good fun and a nice little arc.

So good. Hilarious, but fecking mental as well. Even Speltzer shits it at the end, and that guy is absolutely batshit crazy.

That was certainly better, but Isaac is still shit.

The impression was hilarious.

The end with Deb saying she was glad he'd killed Speltzer was inevitable but interesting.

Watched it, liked it, will continue with this series. Lack of Louis follow-up though...

I don't think anyone is aware he is dead. Unless they find his blood on Dexter's boat, it might never be properly addressed.

I hope there is some backstory to Louis and why he targeted dexter beyond the geeky reason he had given. Hopefully something interesting may be revealed regarding his past, but the writers will probably not bother with it.

All Louis' ties to the characters in the show were conveniently cut before he died, so it wouldn't surprise me if we never hear of him again. Too bad really, particularly considering the time invested in building up the character

Have I missed something here? Who's this?
She is the random black female detective with short hair that appeared in the last episode. Seemed to just be a filler character though working the cases, though she had a few lines in the strip club I think.
I'm kinda glad there's less of LaGuerta in this season. She annoys me. I just find her boring but what might be interesting is how they play out her investigation into the slide she found at one of Dexter's kill sites
I'm guessing from the previews, that we are going to be seeing a lot more of her next episode. Hopefully they don't focus to much on her though and focus on dexter/debs reaction to the knowledge she is digging into it again.

I can understand why it wasn't brought up this episode. Lots was going on and with all ties to the character severed it is quite likely that no one knows he is missing yet. I will be annoyed if something isn't made of it later though. The whole blood splatter on the boat I feel has to come back and haunt dexter.

What was the deal at the end with Isaac and the photo? Was that guy his son/brother/lover?

That was a shame, cos I think the guy playing Isaac is pretty cool and has a menacing aura about him. But those lines "I will avenge you" and "Everything I do, is for you" (could picture douchebag Bryan Adams' face at that moment) were dreadful, and the scene itself wasn't THAT necessary, as we had understood beforehand (in the nightclub) that he cared very much about what's his name (Viktor?). Sure, I understand they are bringing in the fact they had a special bond (maybe his son), but it was a very blunt scene in an otherwise pretty good episode.

The Dexter imitation before the Speltzer kill was absolutely brilliant, pissed myself laughing!

I actually thought that Deb would end up killing Speltzer, with Dexter helping her.

What was the deal at the end with Isaac and the photo? Was that guy his son/brother/lover?

I'm surprised he didn't say it out loud to himself. If he had just looked straight at the camera and said "This is my dead so and so and these are my motivations" it wouldn't have been much different.

I reminded me of (Prometheus spoiler)

FATHER...

Don't agree on Masuka, as some have pointed out already, he's so funny because he's a peripheral character and only gets great lines now and again. With more screen time, they'd take the edge out of his character, and we'd get bored with him.

I thought the episode was pretty awful, between the Bryan Adams cameo and Speltzer's maze for Dexter it was pure cheese.

Good points were Dexter and Deb talking about trinity and Rita.

There's an interesting post about this on IMDB:

Personally I don't know if I buy the gay-theory about Isaac and Viktor, BUT i did notice something that strongly suggests it.

First: Screendumb from the pic with Isaac and Viktor (hope I'm not violating anything here...) :

mjbmkm.png

Now compare that to this picture from the Greek island Mykonos, which is a famous gay island:

Shot at the exact same location (look at the towers in the background). This could be a coincidence, but it would be weird if they randomly decided to show a picture of Viktor and Isaac on exactly that island..

Don't belive me? Watch the episode again and google Mykonos...

and there's also

Preview clips which hint at Isaac being gay as well as some dialogue in previous episodes. If Viktor was Isaac's son, I think we would have found out by now.

I just assumed it was his brother, and never thought anything otherwise. Maybe it's his partner, or his son. Or his gay son partner.

It really has turned awful. He convinced that guy to kill himself in four minutes, it was the worst defense of your own life I've ever seen. He made no attempt to assure himself that his family would be protected, he made no demands or anything, he even wrote his suicide note from the get-go without a seconds hesitation.

Yep that was retarded. I'm just glad Batista saw through it like a competent person for once.

Yep that scene was clumsy.

Had I been the guy that they wanted to kill, I would have picked up the gun and shot the nightclub manager. Bit of a bluff, maybe Isaac would've gotten mad, but maybe he would have liked that the guy had the balls to do it, promoted him to the now deceased guy's job who in consequence would've gotten to shag loads of strippers, with Quinn and his botched cosmetic surgery watching, probably. My script is better than their script.

Well in that painful conversation last week isaac was reading a paper as sexy naked women gyrated around him. Gay!!
The conversation then with Dexter about them both not being here for the women could point to him being gay as well. I did assume it was just him being there for business when that episode aired, but could point to the gay thing as well.

Yeah I kept hoping he would shoot either the night club manager or Isaac, but instead he just killed himself after minimal coercion and minimal assurances that his family would get money. It almost felt like they just fast forwarded their way through that scene.

"Look the episode is only 40 minutes so we need to get this scene done. If you could shoot yourself real quick that'd be swell."

The guy really didnt have a choice did he. They were going to kill him if he didnt cooperate, you think they were going to wait around to show a picture of his wife and kids on holiday with an ice cream? It might have been a few minutes hassle to find someone else to pin the blame on, but this guy didnt know that.

I doubt that, but yeah, once you know you're going to die no matter what you do, aim to go with a bang.

But Alex's problem was that he's got a family. I don't know whether he truly believes they'd look after his family once he's gone but he would know that if he messed around either by refusing to kill himself or kill someone else, then his family would be dead for sure.

From Entertainment Weekly:
As we saw last night, the weight of protecting Dexter is weighing heavily on Deb and it will continue to do so. Dexter, meanwhile, will feel lucky to have Deb watching his back in next week’s episode. As it turns out, Dexter may not be so good at covering his tracks as he insists he is.
