Television Dexter

I'm hoping the kill in the airport and the disposal in the surf bag is an error by Dexter rather than rubbish writing. The slide is more annoying because there is no way that it would have been casually noticed down that drain by a detective. If the CSI team had found it fair enough. And I though it was logged in so it will be noticed that it is gone you would have thought.

Spoilers: ANY and all talk about the future must be in spoiler and labeled according to content. For example:

Personal guesses as to future developments
Unless this series is going to be Dexter on the run then Deb must come to some accommodation about him being a serial killer which may mean that he has to come clean about their Dad and the code stuff. Not sure what Louis is up to or how he is connected but I think it is safe to assume that he is either a trainee serial killer or a serial killer fanboi unless he is related to Dexter somehow. What are the odds that Batista's sister ends up dead?

I don't think it'll come back, he did a lot of stupid stuff last season too which was never referenced after that.

For me it was just lazy, idiotic writing put in so that at the start we were under the assumption he was on the run from Deb and the cops.

It was clearly lazy writing and easily seen through.

There are only two seasons left, including this one, which I think means this is either going to drag out or Dexter is going to have to kill Deb and the LaGuerta lead is what catches him in the end. I don't think we're in for a good season here to be honest.

I'm hoping this a much better season than the last two but I guess hat we will see in due course. On the plus side Dexter hasn't gone down hill s fast as True Blood did.

Good episode, Debra finally acts like a detective and starts asking proper questions about Dexter. I hope they're done with the incest angle and never mention that again.

The airport scene was a joke. Mike's death was a shit way to end, what at first, appeared to be an interesting character, I guess they didn't know how to properly use him.

Will be interesting to see how LaGuerta pursues the blood-slides. I like she is the only one who knows about them, even if it was random she could spot the slide in the Church and no-one else did.

I'm still not sure what to make of the nerd, Damien's theory sounds plausible.

I'm not sure what to make of it yet. Mike's death was a shame, I thought they could have used him better. They really need another Trinity. We're still harping back to him, and he was what, two years ago? As good as Edward James Olmos was, young Hanks was atrocious

Just got to watch the 1st episode of series 7. I really enjoyed it, but I was a bit pissed off right at the end when the feckers included something to the extent of "....this season on Dexter look out for...." and gave loads of stuff away about what's to come. I'm the type of person who prefers to not have a single notion of what is going to happen going into episode 2. Oh well...still really enjoyed the first episode.

Does anybody know when episode 2 is airing?

I said the exact same thing to the missus when that happened, but the missus reckons that LaGuerta saw the reflection of the glass; so maybe light beamed off it making it obvious to the naked eye.

Agreed

Dexter airs Sunday nights in the US. It's available to be reported to the authorities (*cough*) on Monday mornings.

Nice one. Thanks for that. I'll be sure to report it on Monday afternoon. Mondays are a good day too for me. Usually not up to much so it'll make er...some good reporting

Mike is no loss really, I couldn't tell you anything about him.

He was transferred from Detroit or Chicago, he's a straight shooting detective who does things by the book. Oh and he was actually competent.

Which is why the writers never managed to fit him in with the other detectives.

I liked the look of his character and feel he at least had potential to be very good in the series. He seemed to be the only detective that would actually look into things and think properly about situations, which could have been a problem for dexter. The rest of them seem to just bumble from one case to the next without actually getting any closer to catching anyone while dexter picked the real killers off.

Batista.

He's become more and more pointless as the show has gone on really.

I wouldn't object to Doakes somehow being alive if they could bring him back

Just a 'Surprise motherfecker' right after he admits to Deb he's a killer in the last ep would be awesome.

Possible spoiler about Doakes revealed by my cnut friend:

Apparently Doakes is expected to come back at some point this season, whether it's as a flashback, a ghost like Harry or whether he is somehow alive, it is yet to be determined.

Also, according to my mate, IMDB geeks reckon the last episode is titled 'Surprise Motherfecker' so Doakes may still be alive.

They could at least justify Doakes taking this long to come back on the grounds of the evidence being so stacked against him, couldn't they? I can hardly remember the back end of season 2, but the evidence was quite conclusive wasn't it?

Maybe he's been in hiding or something until the chance could open up for his name to be cleared. An investigation into Dexter would seem a good enough opportunity for that to happen.

Wouldn't fit Doakes' character. He hated Dexter - so if somehow he is still alive, he probably would've hunted down Dexter, killed him and then cleared his name.

Waiting a long period of time in hiding for the chance to clear his name is not something he would do imo.

I always wondered what happened to the actor who played Doakes because his character was awesome. Never turned up in any other series, I thought he gave a consistently strong performance. Worst thing was for him to be killed off.

However, I'll have to rewatch because I don't recall there being a question about him surviving the explosion

A reply to this which could spoil something.

I just reading Erik King's wikipedia page and on his Filmography it has this:

Dexter (2006–2007, 2012) — James Doakes

IMDb is extremely unreliable when it comes to predictions, I'd be extremely surprised if they went with that.

Here's his last scene

And that levelled the building and threw him outside. If he comes back I'm not watching any more.

No way can I see him still being alive. I can actually buy him biding his time before appearing but the way he left the show originally, for me means that there's no way that him being alive can be justified. My memory of the episode is a bit foggy though so it may have been ambiguous but kieto's picture says not.

He'll probably be in it the same way Harry is.

Yeah. I was going to add a bit on how I thought he'd appear but I was a bit sidetracked looking for the roles Erik King has played since.

Most likely scenario is that - the Harry/Brian connection. Flashback is another possibility but less likely. I'm looking forward to it.

Re: the above spoilery conversation.

They also identified the body via dental record, if he comes back corporeally I'll stop watching. He might be back as some type of flashback or ghost but I can't see it. Most likely just someone putting bad information on IMDb, it would hardly be the first time
