Television Dexter

Very good episode.

Surely they'll track Dexter's phone? Also, I'm baffled at the lack of security cameras at key locations.

I hope they don't cop out and have Debra killed without her knowing about Dexter, but I suspect she will get killed.

Very very good episode. Next weeks looks brilliant.

Won't be surprised if one of Deb/Batista die.

The 911 call from Dexter's phone.I mean, if Miami metro cannot track it down to him then it'll be a big fecking joke.I thought Quinn was supposed to be doing better in the previous episode, he's back to his shitty self now ?

There is a theory on the IMDB forums that:

Debra seems to be falling in love with Dexter :nervous:

I can see why people are suggesting this as in the last few episodes she really has been emotionally attached to Dexter, moreso than before. Although, I think the reason for this is that they're setting it up to reveal that big-brother isn't as sweet as she thinks he is.

Did you see the preview?
There was a 'look' between them

I think that just might be the way it was edited. Then again, I might be wrong.

Yes I think that too

What a weird episode of Dexter.

I'm finding the main storyline extremely underwhelming, as a villain he simply doesn't have the presence to pull it off. Theres nothing intelligent about it and how the hell is this guy so good at everything?

Making traps, paintings, chemical bombs

I enjoyed the start of the season but the main storyline has been very weak imo.

Also a bit of a shame that there was no follow-up to the ice truck killer hand

I think there still might be something brewing regarding the intern. I was wondering why they keep showing dexter typing things into the search engine he recommended. Maybe i'm giving the writers too much credit there!

Yeah I noticed that too, its used too much. He must be able to track Dexters search history on it. I think he knows that Dexter is the bay harbour butcher. I don't know whats going on with Deb, but the love angle could be true. She'll probably find out about Dexter soon.

Yeah he specifically mentioned the bay harbour butcher when showing Dexter his video game. And seemed to take it very badly when Dexter dismissed it. Interesting...

Good episode but still basic things

- 911 call from his own phone, in his own voice.
- Standing on a boat after just raising the girl out of the water, in broad daylight.
- He broke out of the cellar in the church with ridiculous ease.
- I swear the opening to the episode was a completely different version of the end of episode 9?
- Debra's shrink again. "You associate churches with loss". feck me she's good.

Finally came up to speed with season 6.

How many episodes are we in for?

I don't like how it seems to build up to a climax this early.
But then again it may build on with the intern after DDK?

Also, the ridiculous ease with which that couple took to brutally butchering a woman

Think this was meant to demonstrate the similarity between Gueller/Travis, and Travis/the couple. Travis is acting towards the couple very much like the fake Gueller used to act towards him.

Was a good episode in my opinion, though I can't help but feel that they could've improved the series considerably had they forged a relationship between Sam and Travis. It's not exactly inconceivable considering the roles the two of them play, and it would've been interesting to see Travis murder Sam after having taken him under his wing. Gives the whole Brother Sam thing a more lasting impression, and it might have added a bit more spice to the series had the persuit of Travis from Dexter been fuelled by something of that magnitude.

As it stands, the whole thing with Brother Sam is a bit of a distant memory.

They could've done this whilst making the current Dexter/Deborah thing a bit more intense. There have been enough things throughout this series to warrant Deborah having her own investigation into Dexter by now, and they should've gone for that from earlier in the season (culminating in her finding the blood slides, perhaps).

The main story remains in that the whole thing balances on whether Dexter can get to Travis before Deborah does, but it would've been far more interesting to have it play out amongst that, whilst still keeping it all in context of Dexter shutting Deborah out. The difference is, instead of talking random shite about chairs and tables, they could've had her slyly interrogating him throughout the series, with Dexter getting progressively more suspicious of Deborah throughout.

The problem with this season is that there's been no real focus on the possibility of Dexter being found out, yet it would've had that had they introduced a storyline along those lines. Not just that, but there's also been a comparative lack of interaction between Dexter and his main enemy in this series, and it's led to there being more pointless side-plots and loose ends (though there could still be life in this Bay Harbour Butcher thing).

You can find guides to making bombs and traps pretty easily on the internet and he worked with paintings, so I don't really think it's too far fetched that a person can do all of those things really.

Thought "what the feck" as well after that scene. Who doesn't associate churches with loss? Those shrink-sessions are easily the worst reoccurring thing in Dexter. It's like she's just reading a booked titled "State the obvious" out loud.

Also, the ridiculous ease with which that couple took to brutally butchering a woman

Some people are fecked up. The video the guy posted showed that he was a nutcase, so I don't really have a problem with that. There's probably plenty of people in real life who could be talked into doing the same. The woman didn't do anything though it has to be said, but the man was just devoted. I honestly (and sadly) don't think it's unrealistic that there's people like that in the real world.

Bah, Utøya has shown that you can pull off some pretty spectacular evil with not a lot more than research and hard work.

I haven't really enjoyed this season all that much. It was always quite silly but they've now ramped it up to daft levels. Unless they're going to do something with it, it's quite clear that they'd track his number after making the 911 call. In fact, once it became clear what was going on it'd be the first thing they'd do.

can someone tell me if the intern is able to check DNA? if he can, it can be connected to Dexter

Isn't that what Masuka does, so the intern should also be able to check DNA?

What I'd like to know is:
How does he know or suspect Dexter to be a serial killer in the first place? It seems random that he knows/suspects Dexter is a killer but others do not. Plus, he was fascinated by Dexter from the moment he met him, like Dex is some celebrity and he is striving for his approval (like a crazy fan would) yet there was no indication in past series that anybody (other than Doakes and Quinn) suspected Dexter.

Basically I want a plausible explanation for why intern thinks Dexter is a killer but nobody else does.

I have never been one to criticzize this show, but feck me this season's been bad. 2 episodes left and I can hardly remember what has happened yet alone look forward to what is going to happen. Everything about this season has been terrible, from the...
religious theme, to the lame villain with the dark passenger, to the mysterious but also extremely boring intern and his love affair, to Matthew's Scandal, to Debra's whining and Quinn's emo-trip. I couldn't care less about any of it.

The only good moment I recall was the episode with imaginary Ice Truck Killer and their road trip.

 Agree, but I still get excited about what can happen. When will Dexter go apeshit? Only Americans can come up with such great series just to ruin it by pure greed. Gekko's the lot of 'em.

fecking hell, the words "dark passenger" piss me off every time they're uttered.

The episode bored me to death at times, as pointing out above, such awful plot holes as well. I think I was interested in around 20% of it and couldn't give a feck about the rest.

Colin Hanks is a terrible villain.

Apparently the last 2 episodes will do something that will help shape the final 2 seasons, sounds a bit promising at least, but I won't expect much.
