Got my 1st purple engram, rushed back to the tower and to Mr decoder. I got a fecking rare item
Also is there anyway of getting motes of light and strange coins faster? I only have 6 of each. I think I need over 20 to buy something good of the weekend bloke

random reward for blue or purple engrams sometimes, motes from exp so just do lots of stuff that gives exp
There are loads of them if you go on the free roam on any of the planets. You are probably just running through the areas too quickly where the events take place. They are not actually random they tend to happen in the same places over and over again.
Has anyone had a situation where it says something like "the enemy are advancing on each other" (sure this is probably wrong can't remember what it actually said) and then tons of Hive & Fallen start spawning everywhere? Was glad there was a few other randoms in the area because I would have got torn apart on my own!
@Laidback Levo and @Damien helped me farm the cave last night. Got me from level 16 to 19 in like an hour and a half or something.
Although Damo, you didn't have to stick with me as long as you did. I'm sure it was super boring for you i do appreciate the help though chaps!

Does the black market guy have the same stuff every week? I got the helm of inmost light, which is quality, but it's a bit shite if eventually everyone has it.

Does anyone know the average cost for stuff is in Mote Of Light currency? Racking them up now and didn't realise I got more through XP so wondering what kind of things are available at what cost.

Think Halo but essentially an MMO with a focus on gathering loot to improve your character.
Went to the cave for the first time last night and had 2 random events.
I've done patrols on all the planets previously though, as I was getting the bounties for them. Getting 2 whilst exploiting a spawn in the cave for grind purposes is hardly positive is it?
Running through the missions is a ridiculous excuse man. What are you meant to do? You follow the mission structure and fight who is in the way of it. They should be spawning in and around mission areas.
Mate, I see them all the time, all over the shop, going from place to place in patrol, in strikes, in missions... god knows why you don't see them...
Done 2 of the Queen's bounties, should be able to get another 2 done when I'm back from work. Not touching the crucible ones as its not an enjoyable mode for me.
I've only done Crucible Bounties so far with the odd Vanguard one done. I'm a few kills away from closing off 4 Crucible Bounties then going to switch to Vanguard.
Wish I could get more gametime on this game. I have work, gym and a girlfriend and one of them is getting reduced attention at the minute hahaha

I'm hopelessly shit at the Crucible. I seem to do OK in PVE consistently finishing 1st/2nd with the highest number of precision kills almost every time, but I seem to get my arse handed over to me in PVP with me finishing bottom 3 consistently.
Any tips? I've tried putting the sensitivity all the way up and getting used to it, guess I'm just not used to shooters on consoles.

No idea, just popped up as a message. Said if you do the Queens bounties and keep the Galaxy safe then she rewards you, doesn't mention with what though.

The guns are really poorly balanced. What are you using? Only things worth their salt are shotguns, snipers and auto rifles with good stability. Hand cannons, pulse rifles and scout rifles, while brilliant in game, are barely usable online.
The shotgun is just about the only thing I can kill with...providing I get close enough. Otherwise I just use the autorifle and spray and pray.
The fusion rifle always seems to decimate me before I've had a chance to even glance at my opponent.
That legendary shotgun I got is amazing for the crucible. I imagine I'm pretty infuriating to play against with it though. Oh well, my heart bleeds for them.
Ye I agree I wasn't using it as an excuse just as a likely reason why you weren't seeing any. It's just another thing that was a good idea but not executed that well imo.

Not sure, how do you know if weapons are afilliated with a certain group? unless you bought it from them, in that case mine was just one I luckily picked up from the loot cave:
I actually think all guns are viable, you just need a good one and to know how to use them... I've seen top players using hand cannons and snipers, depends on the maps too of course but you just know they have great weapons with great specs/upgrades....

AR and Fusion Rifle for me.
Got myself a nice new Maschine Gun (Hannibal-E I think its called?) and it's lethal. I defended a zone in Control with it and went on a 12 kill streak, nobody got near me!

We have a few good PvP players on here but we don't play together... what up wit that?
That New Monarch autorifle looks pretty sexy for both PVE and PVP. Will probably be the first thing I properly farm for.
Yeah it's pretty decent 1-2 shots for a kill most of the time, I racked up 13 kills the first time using it then 15 the next game with a decent killstreak in there to boot, I'd not done great in PvP up untill then but was still sort of finding my way with my weapons. I don't think the auto rifle I have is up to scratch for PvP yet but got a good rare pulse rifle late last night that seems like it'll be good, it's a step above the one you get from the female Guardian when you complete the story missions.

Also, people arguing that the 'loot cave' is more beneficial than doing strikes/crucible/etc... probably should stop playing this game. What are you grinding for? What do you hope to achieve? are you enjoying yourself? Better yet... is it actually working out for you?

I thought it was going the other way. Usually well reviewed games gets an army of haters but I thought in general gamers were loving destiny and thought it should have reviewed far better
