Ive never had them decode into green. All blueFarmed the cave today. Turns out it works. Got about 7 blue engrams. All decoded into fecking green or blue items
Are legendary engrams all blue and its just pot luck if you get one or are they a different colour...does anyone know?
I get them all the time. Id say at a guess about 15 of them. usually on patrols and the like
Yep, I have had 3 legendary's and every 1 turns into blue's which is frustrating.
Atleast some of the blue's I have got recently have been better armor than I had previously, which is a slight positive.

Do you guys ever get them whilst doing 3 player fire team? I know we did in the beta so it's possible.

Do you know the loot cave on earth everyone is banging on about? Be there on the hour and every half past each hour and you'll get one 99% of the time. And yes it can be done solo.
Yeah but then they're not random. I want them cause they would have enhanced my experience with the game but I've completed the game and done every mission 2/3 times and not had one.
There is a spot on Mars where a group of Goblins and a Minotaur spawn and start fighting some of the big fat jumping guys. A Minotaur random event spawns there and he is actually impossible to take down I'm sure of it.
I think they patched the game to try and make them happen more often, but overall I agree. If you don't know where to look, then it's unlikely you will just come across them in the story. The thing is, they are one of the few things in the game which sometimes give shards as a reward. Even that seems to have dried up now.
I like that you can share shards between characters. Made a Hunter, completed a public event and got a shard as reward, deposited it into the vault then switched to my Warlock and withdrew it

I just about managed to survive the warsat one. Once I activated the scanner, I was running around the warsat when the fallen/hive bosses came did it with about 10 secs to spare.While walking around I picked up a blue engram, decoded it and got another legendary primary weapon

Another pulse rifle which can be turned into full auto mode. Both weapons are similar but Strange Suspect reduces cooldown of grenades for every kill, while with Fair and Square, when a round is missed the gun fires a fourth shot. Not sure which one to use now really.

Just got my first legendary engram and got mega excited! Only for it to turn into a random blue scout rifle.

Luck of the draw. I've been lucky enough to have most of my purple engrams turn into legendary stuff.
Cheers Damien, is it pure luck. Is there anything you can do when going to see the cryptarch to increase the chances of it turning into a legendary item or is it simply luck?
Just been farming for an hour.e need with about 12 blue engrams. Got 2 new sweet pieces of armour with +11 Light and one of the primary weapon engrams got me the Legendary Doctor Nope. Anyone used it?
Yeeess! Just got an exotic bounty!!
....terrible! Was desperate for an AR legendary as well but it's got the lowest impact of any rifle and it's basically a nice looking sub machine gun. Got absolutely wasted from all distances!

As for autorifles, I got the hex caster first. It has 0 impact and fires all over the place, so hard to keep it on the target. But its rate of fire is insane. It could be good for really large enemies but it was useless in pvp

Farmed that cave for nearly 45mins. 30+ greens and 2 blues, FFS. Still have never had a legendary drop
Got a legendary shotgun earlier called the Comedian, not used it yet but that came from a blue engram. Not had a legendary drop since the start of the game

So on the topic of exotics, you want to find 1 exotic armour piece you really like and build the rest of your gear around it. For example I have 3 exotic armours, but since I can only wear 1 at a time I picked the one that suited my playstyle the best, which is a titan chest that helps you ressurrect people faster and you get ressurected faster. So I completely maxed out the upgrades on it and it goes to 30 light on that chest. It also gives you more autorifle ammo and more special ammo.
For my exotic gun I have Plan C fusion rifle in my special weapon slot. So this gets more ammo from the chest piece. Again you can only have 1 exotic weapon out of the 3 slots so you need to find whats going to fit your setup and playstyle.
The other 2 exotic pieces for Titan are still useful to me. When I pvp I'm going to want to use 1 of the other 2, the head from xur last week gives you some bonuses to the titan super for dive bombing. And the armanterium chest gives you a 2nd grenade instead of having to wait for the cooldown and gives you more ammo for heavy weapons and special weapons. It also gives you 144 discipline which pretty much gives you 100% grenade cooldown on its own. I can pair that together with Truth exotic rocket launcher and get extra rockets which is good for solo content, public events, farming, etc
But I'm not going to spend shards upgrading the defence on those 2 pieces because they arent the main exotic I chose to build my gear around. They are just for fun and side adventures.
So basically if you dont have an exotic armour yet, and then xur comes and he has something for your class... Take a look at it and think about whether it fits what you want to do. You might not actually like it or want that playstyle. You can also check online what your class has for exotics, because a week later he might be bringing something that suits you better

Random reward for turning in normal bounties. Will just pop up after you turn 1 in. Some say it helps if you turn in a bunch of bounties at once, but probably a tinhat theory. I gave all mine in at once for ages and didnt get anything. Then 1 day I did a couple of pvp bounties, gave in 2 and got it

Hasn't everything reset yet? I'm maxed on everything...
Level 22, Oceans of Storm. Doesn't have the rewards under it like 3 strange coins or XP so guessing I've done it.
If the icon is red/blue (not sure which) it should be done.
