Gaming Destiny | Rise of Iron launch

Tomorrow afternoon is fine for me.

Sounds good to me too. Won't be on PS4 but its all straightforward enough anyway for the first part, albeit we'll have to be a bit more careful with less warlocks around. And for the oracles I've got great vision on three of them which I can get no problem from the left.

Just a question of whether there'll be any warlocks there for the templar bit

I am half a circle away from unlocking fireborn on my other warlock, if i can grind that out that will be at least one anyway.

I have a 29 Warlock with fireborn, and I just got Hunter to 29 as well

I think if gloves drop for either of them they can get 30 too :D

I'm up for normal raid later on today, or even hard. Would like to complete both though.

I have a 29 warlock, but I've not unlocked fireborn yet. Also not sure what time I'll be available today. Just need the chest for him to reach 30 though.

I'll be trying to do hard on my alts. One is 29 and the other is 28. If the 28 gets the oracle checkpoint then it should be just about alright to complete the oracle and the templar bit and hopefully I'll get another piece of armour. Just annoying that I've not been able to get an exotic helm for my Titan yet.

I've decided Fatebringer should have been an exotic

Its really not much worse than Hawkmoon, but doesnt take your exotic slot

In some situations it might even do more damage with the aoe explosion from a headshot kill and explosive rounds. Of course the Hawkmoon could have the extra damage bullets kick in and clear the crowd just as fast

I dont have the last word but I find it hard to believe it will be as good as Fatebringer

I hope I get Fatebringer one day. You can only get it from Templar on HM right?

Fatebringer, a void fusion rifle and Gjallarhorn sounds like a good loadout. I've got none of them though

Yeah Templar HM. I got it the same raid as I got Hawkmoon so I had it to one side while i got Hawkmoon fully levelled. But now im seeing its power and although its not as good as vision of confluence or atheons epilogue on oracles, its still an oracles weapon and when i take off hawkmoon for another exotic i can use that

I've never been lucky enough to have legendary weapon engram decrypt into exotic so reckon you'll be okay

;)

I don't mind having a crack at alt raid.

Anything to get some fecking warlock gloves.

Haha. I was desperately hoping I might get some legendary armour, getting to vanguard level 2 takes ages.

Anyone up for anything? Daily, weekly or nightfall?

Also can't believe I missed Xur today, finished my 23rd strike so needed 2 more today, then to buy som engram from him. Missed him by half an hour though, so now I have to wait until next weekend. All that grinding for nothing.

Deviant Gravity-A Legendary Arc Machine Gun. Instant sharding methinks.

Just after I got Mida drop this week, having waited for two months for a decent scout rife to drop, I then had VOC drop the next night, then the Aries X4 with firefly from the vangaurd ranking up.

It's all or fecking nothing with this game.

I might have us an oracle hm checkpoint hold on.

Excellent. Will do.

Mida is good if you're a fast player but don't bother it with it. VoC is just perfect, put work into that, it's very handy in the raid too.

Agreed about all or nothing though, this week I had two Mida's drop for me and the VoC. At least I got the Gjallarhorn though

What level are you? I'm 26 on my alt so not quiet strong enough for the nightfall, but could be a bit of a distraction to help you in the weekly

I'm only 27, need shards and lots of it. Reckon the weekly might be a bit much in that case, if no one else wants to help out.

So after getting 13 or 14 vanguard mentor missives, only ever giving me thorn, juju or invective quests - all on my Titan

Yesterday I finally got a missive on my Hunter and I had the choice of super good advice and pocket infinity, finally

I chose pocket infinity yesterday and started the quest.

Today I get the choice of infinity, super good advice or juju again on my warlock. 2 in 2 days after months of waiting. And because its on both my alts, I suspect my titan is bugged or something

I had a stock of ten fusion rifles in case the pocket infinity bounty came up.
I trashed them all tonight as I have the praetorian foil and its got massive impact and range and quite charge time as well.
Just watch as I get the pocket infinity bounty tomorrow.

Pocket Infinity is great, pretty much ideal for killing wizards.
Think its the only decent gun out of all the exotic bountys.

Invectives reload is just too crap for use in pve
Bad Jujus damage is terrible and you have to get most of its upgrades before it even becomes mediocre.
Super Good Advice is just meh, crappy range and stability and meh damage.
Haven't got thorn yet but it looks like another gimmick with fairly meh stats.

Did you guys complete hard mode then? If not you wanna go at it later?

Hi, /r/DestinyTheGame. A few days ago, you all voted on the effectiveness of Destiny's Exotic Weapons, and in doing so stated whether or not you owned them. 7445 Redditors and their friends responded, and I'm happy to present the results so you can share your opinions. The survey results follow - but I'm also listing the ownership percentages of each weapon, the logic behind that being that weapons with a higher ownership percentage probably have a higher probability of having been ranked correctly. Understand that this survey represents Redditors' preferences and play patterns, and is not necessarily representative of the whole playerbase - but it DOES give a pretty good idea of what the most active and engaged players think of the game.

Ownership Percentages of Exotic Weapons
1. Ice Breaker - 79.52%

2. SUROS Regime - 77.94%

3. Invective - 70.84%

4. Patience and Time - 70.64%

5. Bad Juju - 70.09%

6. Thorn - 61.77%

7. Pocket Infinity - 57.92%

8. Truth - 52.56%

9. Super Good Advice - 49.28%

10. Gjallarhorn - 46.17%

11. The Last Word - 34.40%

12. Vex Mythoclast - 34.13%

13. Red Death - 33.19%

14. Plan C - 32.44%

15. Universal Remote - 29.67%

16. MIDA Multi-Tool - 29.38%

17. Thunderlord - 29.34%

18. Hard Light - 26.02%

19. Hawkmoon - 21.20%

20. Monte Carlo - 16.82%

What follows is the community consensus for every weapon. The higher the weapon in its tier, the stronger the preference for that weapon based on the data. The tiers were listed as follows in the original post:

  • S-Tier - These weapons are godly, and are incredibly adept at performing their job. Only rank a weapon S-Tier if you believe it fits into the category of "the best of the best."
  • A-Tier - These weapons are quite good. They perform their role well, and few would argue that they're overpowered - most would agree that they're pretty damn good.
  • B-Tier - These weapons aren't perfect, but in the right hands they can be decently good. Weapons classed in this tier may have a larger learning curve than other weapons, or they may have a strange niche in the overall game that has caused them to be less-frequently used than most. No one thinks they're the worst of the worst though.
  • C-Tier - These weapons kinda bombed. Using a C-Tier Exotic Weapon is almost like giving up your Exotic slot. Give this ranking to weapons you think aren't useful.

So that's what the /r/DestinyTheGame community thinks of the Exotic Weapons at this point in Destiny's existence. Do you think Bungie knows of these general trends and will respond when they buff the exotics in the near future? Do you think these rankings are accurate? Leave your thoughts in the comments, and as always - say your prayers to RNGesus so that you may maximize your odds of receiving a GjallarSUROSIceMoon.

Looks about right from a brief skim. Also Monte Carlo is a fair bit rarer than Hawkmoon from the reddit posters results

@Ekeke I think that's more because it's a playstation exclusive isn't it? I have personally had 3 of the feckers anyway.

@afrocentricity How's it going with hard light? I have been concentrating on VOG atm, have you got it levelled yet?

Picked up a thunderlord from an engram, its a slow firing machine gun that insta-kills with each headshot, absolute beast of a gun

I got it from the raid, still haven't worked on levelling it up yet because I'm busy with the Gjallahorn. I really like the Thunderlord though, looks pretty badass too.

Both Hawkmoon and Monte are exclusive to the PS consoles, so yes of course thats the reason they are seen the least. But I'd expect them to be very close to the same rarity

Honestly, if it wasn't an exotic I'd always have it equipped in both pve and pvp. But because its an exotic I can't justify it over my invective for pvp or patience and time for pve.

Yeah she's a beauty. Love the way the lightening goes around the gun too when using it.

Ah OK didn't realize the Hawkmoon was too. Shame I couldn't have had 1 of them instead of 3 Monte Carlos

Nah we've not completed it. We can give it a shot - at least to get the Gatekeeper reward if we haven't as I can't remember where we got to - but I doubt we'd be able to do the Atheon part. Either way I think it'd be good to get another HM started and done up to Templar before the reset as it is simple enough.
