Will I just unlock the PVP by playing through the campaign? Or have I already got the ability to play it?
I'm level 5/6.
Yeah, unless I'm mistaken then you just jump in.

Heading to the crucible now. How does it scale/balance with different levels and stuff? Your weapons/armour all scale?
I picked Warlock. Is there a great deal of difference apart from aesthetics?
I played a few hours with Duafc last night, and we seemed to be unlocking the same stuff in a different style. Yeah Jack, it's good fun. It's absolutely quality as an overall product, even if I think in some individual areas they could perhaps improve. The scope is amazing and I can't wait to play more of it.
You get the vibe of so many games. Mass Effect, Phantasy Star, Halo, Borderlands, Star Wars The Old Republic.
One thing is really bugging me though - the glide. Does it get better with upgrades? In comparison to jet packs on Titanfall, Crysis, Halo Reach etc. it feels really clunky. It feels too slow for me aswel, and due to the nature of the game with more focus on aiming than hipfire I don't feel like you can get any sort of advantage in a battle using it.
Hit me up when you go on it Jack.
Has anyone tried creating more than one character to test? I've got a level 8 Warlock, but contemplating trying out a Titan tonight to see the difference.
Same here, Hunter hasn't appealed to me and I think the game is more suited to the Titan class in all honestyI played with Titan and I really enjoyed it. I'm gonna try Warlock later, Hunter doesn't really interest me.
I'm having a break Jack, but that was fecking great fun mate.
The game on hard is absolutely quality. It seemed pretty easy (1/2 deaths yeah but never much hassle) until now but that was brutal. I kept getting sucked in to defeating the two shielded bastards and forgetting that as soon as they're about to die then loads seem to spawn and charge at you - before you realise you're stuck.
So during this strike mission I've revived the guy in my game easily 20+ times. It feels like a lot more.
I was 40+ kills ahead of him and then we get to the spider tank bit and he quits. I'm all on my own and have no idea how to get rid of this thing. I seem to do good damage to its legs with a special weapon but I'm struggling to get ammo for it, even by killing the few enemies that are spawning nearby.
Not surprised, let's see how they cope with the strain...Destiny beta is soon to be public to everyone!
That's good news, I would certainly like to try it before nailing down a pre order. Could you update this thread when it happens.Destiny beta is soon to be public to everyone!
I didn't quite understand the rewards thing so I'm not even sure what heppened the first time and the second I chose the helmet by accident instead of the massive suit of armour. Have I fecked it long term or will I get them all eventually?Damn, just realised on this character I've not bothered going to the Tower to collect my rewards after completing the tutorial.

Not at all. It won't take you long to get similar, if not better, pieces of armour just from game play. When killing the higher ranked fallen/hive (Captains, Knights, Wizards) look for drops (usually larger green or white dodecahedron shapes) which contain upgraded weapons and armour.I didn't quite understand the rewards thing so I'm not even sure what heppened the first time and the second I chose the helmet by accident instead of the massive suit of armour. Having played more of the multiplayer, I really don't like that it's 30 fps. It just feels like I move to slow.
The 'Explore' has a couple of side missions but nothing exciting. Other than that it's just the story mode, co-op strike mission, PvP and 'Public Events' which can happen randomly when you're during a mission / exploring.EDIT: Nevermind it says it's not once you try clicking on the map. So, there are side missions I can do by talking to people at the Tower?
Yeah, as you say this style of shooter has it place, I just prefer the faster paced games, being better at them helps too. Although, I may also be using this as an excuse for being crap at this. Every time I kill someone, I seem to be killed myself a second later.Yeah. I think because of the ADS, scopes and sprinting then it seems to be a lot about running around and whoever sees the other first will get the kill. That sort of multiplayer definitely has a place, but it's competitors (COD, Titanfall) just seem to do that gameplay a little better.
What is the Iron Banner? I see you get an award if you play at a certain time today??
Disappointed with the graphics. The Last of Us looked better.
