The bosses in this game are fecking shit. Ooh give them massive health pools, that's fun! Yeah I love shooting the same easy monster for 10 minutes non stop.

They're changing that for the normal missions. Although I do feel it helps make them feel bigger/more important

I just did a Mars on on Strike (22) and we were shooting at it for about 10 minutes I swear. I wouldn't mind if the encounter was interesting but they are all exactly the bloody same!

Big boss dude has big gun that will shoot you if it sees you
Waves of smaller monsters
Rinse and repeat

Literally no progression or variation within the fight. Biggest challenge for me is after clearing the adds, tunnel visioning on the boss through boredom and not noticing new adds spawn. Boring, lazy and I have to say I would have expected far better from Bungie.
 
I would have liked more variation in the boss encounters too, but let's be honest... if it was like traditional mmo bosses or the raid encounters a lot of your casuals would be scared off.

And shooting at the boss for 2 minutes barely seeing its health pool go down won't scare them off?

That's a sign that you were underpowered (I can't recall having that experience), and if that was the case, encounter variety would only end up making it worse...

@afrocentricity, Weapons of Light is produced from Titan's super/shield. Tekkers used it when we all went into the middle but didn't work out great at times as some of us was trying to shoot while in his Titan bubble instead of the relic bubble.

Haha, I think you were fireteam leader, and rather than just quitting the team, you took us to orbit. In future, I think if you go on the settings and choose 'change character', I think it takes you out of the fireteam, but leaves everyone else there.

I was the right level but you are missing the point - it's not the length or the difficulty, it's the boringness! There is literally no variety in the bosses at all. Not sure why you are making excuses for shoddy design tbh!

I reckon two is ok, all three is maybe a little risky. I'd say two under the platform and the other by the entrance, being ultra cautious. It's doable, though only because of the platform thing. If that wasn't there, I reckon it'd be close to impossible unless you just had one guy completely idle out of harm's way and the other two going in and out of the fireteam.

Weapons of light is 35% bonus damage for about 10 seconds (if the defender has the right skill setup from fully levelled defender) re-enter bubble to refresh

Haha, no worries, I've just been disconnected from the servers, so we might not have finished in time anyway. That would have been even more frustrating, if we'd been booted just as we were about to kill him!

We really whittled down his health, must have gone down to around a quarter. Felt completing it was achievable, just a pain that Bungie decided to do their patch/whatever it is now. It's so hard because every type of damage gets a buff, so enemies pretty much OHKO you.

That might have taken you out, but I think I was snipered by a Reaver Vandal. When they come out onto the middle platform, they can just about see you at certain positions, so that's something to be weary of. Also, before the boss came out, I got killed under the platform by a Dreg grenade that had been thrown onto the top of the platform. I don't think it should have happened, as plenty of other grenades hadn't hurt me, but something else to keep in mind.
 
You have a strange way of agreeing with people!
I said they should have varying encounters, I also said this would prob scare off the casuals. I also indicated that you were probably underpowered to which you declared you are the right level, forgetting to consider that the damage you do is more related to your weapons than your armour and therefore your level. That's it in a nutshell... stop being so passive aggressive.
