Gaming Destiny | Rise of Iron launch

We really whittled down his health, must have gone down to around a quarter. Felt completing it was achievable, just a pain that Bungie decided to do their patch/whatever it is now. It's so hard because every type of damage gets a buff, so enemies pretty much OHKO you.

My rocket launcher can do a lot of damage, it's void type and fully upgraded, that with my super and grenade does a lot damage, I just couldn't get near him.

That's a shame @tom33 we had a good system going.

I said they should have varying encounters, I also said this would prob scare off the casuals. I also indicated that you were probably underpowered to which you declared you are the right level, forgetting to consider that the damage you do is more related to your weapons than your armour and therefore your level. That's it in a nutshell... stop being so passive aggressive.

Okay well I'm telling you I'm not underpowered. I've done a number of strikes, above, below and right level and they all rely on the same tedious massive health pools with no interesting gameplay mechanics.

So you aren't agreeing with what I'm saying, and you're also trying to imply that I don't know what I'm doing. But you say jeeeeeeez and shortly after call me passive aggressive.

[Gif that implies I think the person I'm talking to is an idiot]

Did I do it right? Jeeeeez

From what I've read a machine gun works better than a rocket launcher for this boss, though if the next time we do it, you're on the outside again and me and x person are underneath the platform, rocket launcher might work nicely. Just solid due to the influx of enemies.

I did read something pointing out that the Vex and Fallen are fighting with each other during several stages of the nightfall, so wait for some of them to kill each other then go in and kill the rest (that bit where we were trying to open that gate thing being a good example).

I want weeklys and nightfalls etc, will be on from about 7:45

You said earlier you were nearly Level 20 (so Level 19), and now saying you were not underpowered on a Level 22 Strike on Mars?

You were underpowered. That's not a bad thing, I enjoy a challenge myself, but you were underpowered.

Whether or not the bosses are monotonous is another point, though I happen to agree they are. I imagine twice as monotonous when you are taking them down with weapons ill equipped for the job...

What do you think of the game?

Enjoying it on the most part. The overall combat mechanics feel good. Fighting normal monsters can be challenging and fun. PVP pretty good. Storyline is pants though so far. It's like they even bother. End game is bland.

If they can improve the bosses in the next expac I'll probably be playing for a while. A lot depends on that though, for me bosses pretty much are the most important aspect of pve end game.

I was level 21 when I went for that strike

That's what I do, I let the stronger guys take each other out and then pick off the weaker ones.

I'm never going to get an exotic weapon. Got the Invective bounty, done the five strikes without dying with ease. Problem for me is I'm so crap at PvP I can't do the next stage: K/D spread of 25 over a number of crucible matches. End up getting one shotted by randoms.

 Less than 24 hours after posting this, I got another exotic bounty:

Shattered Memory Fragment

The Reward for this Bounty is a Fusion Rifle called Pocket Infinity. The Steps to obtain the Weapon are:

  • 1 - Obtain a damaged Ghost from Venus Shattered Coast
  • 2 - Kill a Vex Gate Lord with heroic Modifier active
  • 3 - Bring the unlocked Ghost to the Speaker in the Tower
  • 4 - Bring the Fusion Rifles Schematics to the Gunsmith
  • 5 - Charge the Core by Dismantling 10 rare or higher quality Fusion Rifles
  • 6 - Bring the charged Core to the Gunsmith
  • 7 - Kill enemies in a Weekly Nightfall Strike
  • 8 - Return the Prototype to the Gunsmith
I'm currently on step 5. Finding the Fusion Rifles is hard as the Gunsmith hasn't stocked them yet to my knowledge since getting the bounty. If anyone does notice if he is stocking them at any point, it'd be appreciated if you could say as his stock refreshes every three hours!

Apparently it's pretty beastly fully upgraded. Best part is none of the bounty involves the crucible!

I got that 1 too yesterday! it looks insane :D the fusion rifle dismantling could be annoying though. I've only done 2 so far.

If I had known there was such a thing I would of course not gotten rid of all my damn fusion rifles

Giving Shards in Legendary Engrams sucks!

I also now have had about 6 Legendary Helmets as well as the exotic I bought. I hven't had any Legendary Gauntlets yet so bought the Exotic Sunbreakers. My Exotic Helmet is now sat their redundant. What should I do with it? Save or discard?

I bought the sunbreakers on Friday, felt like a boss.

Got a legendary engram yesterday and rolled sunbreakers, could of put my foot through the fecking TV.

I'd save it. Loot rolls in this are so fickle, you'll probably find 3/4 more gauntlets now that you've bought some.
Anyway what else would you put in your bank?

Every time i buy something i get a random drop thats more or less the same, if not better, within days.
Im vaguely convinced the game is in fact out to get me and thinking up new and elaborate ways to piss me off.

I'm working on that too... fwiw the gunsmith had them in stock last night. I waited nearly a week too...

Is that the auto fire fusion rifle?
Cause that sounds insane

Also when are the servers back up? :(

You can buy rare items from the gunsmith?

Yeah randomly.

You are better off engram farming as every second one I decode turns into a sodding fusion rifle.

Back up lads, try restarting the game if you are still seeing the error message.

Ok I'm currently doing daily so just jump in anyone who wants in...
