Gaming Destiny | Rise of Iron launch

Looks like the game will down for a few hours today.

On Atheon, I was doing some reading and apparently we can take him out in 2-3 times if any of us has a Ice Breaker and weapons of light.

 
3 times would be great. I think when it gets into trying to get in and out of the void much more you start running into ammo problems.
The relic also has to drop it's shield in the present when it's near full charge, it causes problems in the void as it can mean the players that go back can't be cleansed before they are completely blind due to length if time it takes to charge.
Trying to time it right over 5, 6 or 7 times on the bounce with no time to breathe could be difficult.
 
It resets around 10am this morning doesn't it?
 
So I tried this whole strike playlist thing, and got my first every legendary enegram drop :D


It was a Titan chest I couldn't wear.

Ahh well, marks reset today meaning I can get closer to grinding out that Vanquisher AR.
 
Also what's with this Iron banner thing - is it going to replace everything in the crucible? Or will the conventional, equal-footing modes still be available? I don't want to be getting dicked by lvl 30s with their Suros regimes.

You get rewards from Iron Banner, I remember the beta. You get the weapons of light when the titan drops the shield and you walk through it.
 
Looking forward to Iron Banner and hope these events come regularly to keep me interested.

Does PVP work the same way as Halo in that if you join PVP as a fireteam you face other fireteams? Whereas if you play Solo the chance of playing a party on the other side are greatly reduced?

Played with a guy from work last night and had 4 or 5 games out of 6 that were against all 29's with the same emblems. Titans with absolute monster defence and big AR's. I held my own and managed to rack up a 5.65K/D one game which caused half of their team to leave but the rest of the games most people on my team went 0.3K/D.

If this is the case I can see me playing solo much more often in PVP.
 
Just had a bad experience in the Iron Banner as level 23, taking lots of damage. Guess I may need to get some better gear before I can compete.

Definitely. I've got the last couple of attempts recorded as what we were doing worked well. Don't know if any of you who went in the gates have a recording of the last attempt or so as that'd help too, but if not it doesn't matter. Certainly got into a rhythm and was turning into clockwork. Just wasn't taking too much damage off Atheon which was the slight problem but on my end I'm putting that down to using the heavy/special ammo packs on failed attempts earlier.



Yeah, I think there's probably enough people for two raid teams now.

Having the same people doing it instead of the chopping and changing should help things considerably too.

I think we should storm through the first sections on the first or second night. It's just this bit which is the problem but we're getting there now...

Now that you mention it we should have recorded it, I think me @Ducklegs & @PlayerOne had a good system going... I think when we hit the boss we were taking off around 20-25% each time so it's not unthinkable that we could do it in 3-4 rounds.
 
I'm just about to hit level 20, my tag is shamwowlol5 if anyone wants to do something... I was thinking some strikes

PS4. I just hit 20 now and yeah I'll be up for that. What time you on? I go to the gym at about 6 but apart from that Destiny all night...

Going to go farm for a bit now
 
Rejoice, just picked up my first exotic weapon. Hand cannon, so it doesn't suit me at all, but better than nothing

If you can record it next time we attempt it, whether successfully or not it'd be great. All you have to do is press the share button once after whichever attempt you feel was good enough and save it. Tonight I'll post the videos of the more successful attempts from the outside.

Its the latest event - essentially a PVP mode with new bounties and rewards much like the previous Queen's Wrath event. The catch is, unlike in normal crucible games, this time gear stats actually count - so a higher level player with high level gear would be at an advantage to a player that's at a lower level and has inferior gear.

Did you see the video I posted? I was on the Destiny sub on Reddit and a lot of the users say the best way to take out Atheon is with snipers.

Oops, have now. That works out nicely as a sniper is the only decent special weapon I've got. @afrocentricity, Weapons of Light is produced from Titan's super/shield. Tekkers used it when we all went into the middle but didn't work out great at times as some of us was trying to shoot while in his Titan bubble instead of the relic bubble.
