I can get on for 22:00 hope that’s not too late for people, if it is I can do earlier on Monday

Thanks. I'll try that.
There's a daily challenge to complete a heroic adventure on tangled shore today, it's the rider one which is pretty straightforward as you're on a pike the whole time and can just swap them out for others lying around if yours gets too damaged.

Rider adventure was the easiest for me so I'll do that, cheers.

Ten levels above your light level, get that quest and then get the Petra daily bounties 5 a day and complete the ones you can
Turns out I did have it. Done 6/8 now. Went to the Well to do the killing enemies thing, and there was a bunch of people doing this thing that I still don't understand the mechanics behind. Had something like three tiers, there was something that glowed yellow, they went under it and did something killing loads of enemies then moved on to another bit until they had to kill this big ogre. I tried to deal damage but nothing was happening (didn't help that my light was 506 compared to the recommended 560). At the end of it I got this 514 Rocket Launcher which is pretty nifty. Perks could be better but can't complain too much.

After that I did three strikes, got a 510 Sweet Business Exotic Primary, an Exotic Sparrow (not as good as yours) and a Prime Engram. Annoying thing is it turned into a 511 Primary Weapon. Now up to 507 light but my Bond and Gauntlets (both 500) are letting me down and I can't get Powerful Gear to drop in either slot

In the well there are some enemies called anthemas (or something) that when killed will drop and orb that will give you a buff called "harmony". It recharges your abilities super fast, keeps you alive outside the bubble and let you take down the shields of bosses and some yellow bars called "Heralds of the plague".

When it comes to leveling up, daily/weekly milestones will get you up to 520 pretty fast since engrams drop at 1-5 over your max potential PL. Nightfall milestones will get you to 540 and Dreaming city, raid and prime engrams will get you to max i think. Also, The Drifter usually has bounites that can reward powerful gear and Saladin now has two that awards them, they are pretty time consuming though.

Another thing i noticed is that prime engram buffs will stack so you dont need to get one every day. Last week i was busy a couple of days and could not play and i suddenly got 4 prime engrams in one sitting.

Thanks. Yeah, I remember seeing the words herald of the plague. So I needed to get one of those orbs to be able to attack? Oops.

My problem with the milestones is the drops end up decrypting in the slots that I'm best off in. Highest light in each slot:

Kinetic: 511/510/507/505
Secondary: 510/509/503
Power: 514/506

Helmet: 510/508/505
Gauntlets: 500
Chest: 508/508!/506
Legs: 505/503
Bond: 500

If I get another Kinetic around 510 I'm going to go crazy.

 Yeah, that is a problem often but eventually the RNG will be in your favor. I struggled a long time with my class item as well and i think at one point it was over 20 levels under my highest which was my energy weapon and of course i got plenty of energy weapons.

Wee tip for anyone in this position, the nightfall drops blue engrams at anything between 5 to 10 below your max power. So for example if you are 530 and you have a class item that is 519 you any class item drops in the nightfall will be between 520-525. The trick here is, if the nightfall is The Hallowed Lair or The Corrupted then you can throw on some easy modifiers (Singe + Heavyweight) and farm the incredibly easy lost sectors where you drop in. Can do it solo and you're guaranteed a blue drop from the chests.

Word of warning though... this is strictly for losers like me

Sure, if you've got the Polaris Lance make sure to have it with you, it's good for the boss room.
So on your recommendation I finished the Polaris Lance quest and did the catalyst last night.

Those 50 explosion kills are a PITA man  I ended up farming the Mars lost sector at the top. Seems pretty beast though explosions everywhere :D

It's a really satisfying gun to use if you're hitting crits all the time, near endless ammo, explosions from crit kills and then the "perfect fifth" explosion to top it off. Hopefully once they buff scouts in pve it'll become viable in general again and not just for the whisper bosses, it can be quite good in pvp too because it's really stable and with all the explosions you can get collateral damage if people are bunched up.

Can anyone help me with the ascendant challenge, tried to solo it last night and got nowhere near completing it

It took me a few attempts but I managed to solo it. Once at the top, do lots of running around the outside then do a 180, hit the Thralls with an auto rifle and then rocket the boss. Rinse and repeat.

@Damien - You only need the orb to bring the shield down. Once it's down, anyone can deal damage. I tend to hang back, save my super and wait for the shield to drop then nuke him.

I'm up for finishing the raid tonight if we can get a squad together.

Thanks. Guess I just did hardly any damage due to my low light. It was a bit manic.

Good advice, thanks. All of my gear is less than 5 below my current max power though but will bear that in mind for future.

Obviously too late now, but the easy way to get the 50 perfect fifth kills is to go to the Leviathan by yourself and pick off all the legionaries. Took me 30-40 minutes.

Yeah I watched a video and that was another option, I thought at first it would have been easy with all the thralls around but it doesn't quite work out like that somehow. I think it took me the same amount of time.

Thanks though!

Oh thralls are difficult for precision shots imo. Legionaries at least move slowly and even stand still. But no matter if it took the same amount of time. How do you like the Polaris?

I believe in the end the way it counts for 1 of the 50 kills is the enemy has to do from the burning damage, rather than the shot? at least that's how it seemed to happen as I was getting loads of precision kills on acolytes etc but it wasn't really adding up. Eventually I switched to hitting the wanted knight in the head until the 5th bullet then shot the adds and let them blow up :D

I only used it for a few moments last night but it seems pretty fun, it's definitely a boss/bullet sponge gun that's great with the triple tap.

Yep, any kill you get after the scope lights up and the enemy explodes counted to the 50 total.

With the "three daily heroic story missions" weekly challenge, I noticed that when doing a story mission last night there were five or six different ones to choose from. Does that mean I could do three of those on one day or would I have to wait at least three days to get them done?

yeah, you can do them all at once, did my three this afternoon and got another Edge Transit for my troubles

Aah fair enough, late to the party

Well I'm down for another run at some point.
