Guessing you're doing the ascendant challenge? If we're not raiding I might just go back to the grind for the Redrix Broadsword, the 5 valor resets is going to be brutal for that unless they throw in a few more double/triple valor weekends.

That is my idea of hell having to play hundreds of games of crucible for that.

Jumping on the ascendant challenge wasn't that bad until the rotating meteors near the bottom. Think I died less than @christy87 overall though

I like crucible and had 5 valor resets last season but that included at least one or two over triple valor weekends when Mayhem was up so it was really quick to rank up, plus there wasn't a great deal else to do. This season has a lot of pve grind as well as Gambit to take up time so getting that much play time in crucible is gonna be a tough one, I got my first reset yesterday so we'll see how it goes.

How long does a season normally last and when did season 4 start? Good luck getting it.

Seasons tend to start with content updates, Warmind was season 3 and season 4 started with Forsaken so they tend to be 3/4 months I think.

Yep, it's not bad if you can get valor streaks going but playing quickplay solo is unpredictable at best in terms of winning games so it's hard to bank on going on long winning runs to help rank up. I've heard that placing top 3 in rumble counts as a win though so I might try that out and see if it's speeds up the progression.

True. I've been playing a fair bit of gambit and managed to get a 5 game streak the other day

Trying to get to the first reset but finding it hard to get streaks going as some teams I get matched up with do rubbish. Doesn't help that the second team who activate the primeval seem to get some sort of advantage so I keep seeing other teams hold back then bank a crapload of motes to put large blockers on at same time as activating primeval to get the boost then blast him down.

The catch up mechanics in Gambit need retuning for sure, if you're up against a team that knows how to burn down the primeval then it's pretty much gg to them because they only need a couple of stacks of primeval slayer and then they use melting point + blade barrage + ikelos shotty and just destroy it in seconds so they don't even need to worry about getting theirs out first.

We had a team try that with us last night, in the last round of a three, the waited and waited till we had the primeval spawned, then started dumping blockers in.

However we burnt ours down just as they hit their first invasion portal, so tney lost the match, its a risky stratagy for the other side as it only really works against uncordinated randoms. We didnt even have mics on last night and we only lost one match against what was really good team to be fair.

Can’t wait for some better gear in the 550+ range. Every time they came in I was getting one shotted.

You will do with linear fusion rifles, the best thing to do is just hide, if you are not out the open they will always go for the person with the highest amount of motes, and they only have thirty seconds to get you.

I came up against a team like that last night. I invaded them a few times and they'd just be waiting in the big palace on that map doing nothing with no motes when they had around 30ish banked. My team of randoms still thrashed them though.

If I'm on the map with the palace thing, I tend to hide in the back room on that if there's an invasion and I have a few motes, otherwise I just run around to various portals which take me to the other side of the map and don't get killed much as most don't follow.

Got my second character to 520 now. Not finished the campaign yet so will be a while before I get access to the Dreaming City (only at the bit where you kill the Barons) but I have access to every other Daily/Weekly challenge so it isn't too bad.

I picked up Destiny 2 a few weeks ago to play with some workmates. We made a little clan just for the group of us but it seems like the clan levelling/reward mechanics are grossly in favour of "the bigger the better" which is disappointing.

Doesnt help that since we both hit 50 about two weeks ago, I have yet to find an exotic engram whilst my mate has now found about 8 (and I play more than him too). Reminds me why I stopped playing Destiny 1...

He’s either lying or had insanely good luck. Exotic engrams are extremely rare since forsaken.
