Behind them?
Liverpools transfer business since Klopp came in has been miles better than ours!
Chelsea were much better too before Mad Todd came in and trashed everything.
I find this narrative weird, seeing as we were already horrible at transfers long before Boehly and Clearlake arrived. Let's see.
2021-22 signings: Lukaku, Saul Niguez (loan)
- both terrible deals. Thankfully Saul was only a loan but Lukaku on the other hand...
2020-21 signings: Werner, Havertz, Ziyech, Chilwell, Silva, Mendy
- Silva was a brilliant signing, Chilwell's been good apart from injuries and Mendy had a great first season before falling into mediocrity. Others all terrible from start to finish.
2019-20 signings: Pulisic
- been mostly shite.
2018-19 signings: Kepa, Kovacic, Jorginho
- good deals apart from Kepa who was a massive flop for outrageous money
2017-18 signings: Morata, Bakayoko, Drinkwater, Rüdiger, Zappacosta, Emerson, Giroud, Barkley
- The less said about this transfer season the better. Rüdiger turned out good and Giroud was an alright stop-gap for a few years but also many terrible, terrible signings.
In the last five season prior to Boehly-Clearlake arriving we brought in 20 players and of them I would consider maybe 6-7 to have been good signings and the rest have more or less been a case of pouring hundreds of millions of pounds down the drain.
2016 and before we were much better though.
