Looks like it will be done because of a City bid
Feck me, a few weeks ago you all were claiming it was done to Arsenal
What?

He could play the stones role yeah but stones wouldn't be as good as Dias/akanji roles for the CB and RB/RCB positions. It turns stones into a squad player which I don't know if he does?Could very easily play in the midfield role Stones has played very well in and move Stones back to CB.
I think Stones could be as good as them in that position, but I generally agree that Rice to City doesn't seem like that should be a priority signing for them.He could play the stones role yeah but stones wouldn't be as good as Dias/akanji roles for the CB and RB/RCB positions. I’m not sure he’s very well.
Game over.
Uproot his family moving from London to Manchester .. Making it seem he's being sent off to Peru
What?
Won’t move to United because of uprooting his family away from London but will move to City, just because….I’m not sure he’s very well.

Make it make sense CAF! Make it make sense!
It doesnt and I'd be happy with either. Unfortunately, Caicedo isn't gonna much (if any) cheaper than Rice. So either way, if we want to significantly upgrade our midfield with PL adapted players, we're gonna be paying over the odds. Might as well get it over with.Arsenal moving from Rice to Caicedo doesn't really drop their level at all IMO so if I was an arsenal fan I wouldn't be too concerned. Be interesting to see what Pep does with Rice if they do get him. I don't see him as anything other than a 6 (or that Stones role), though I guess stones is 29 so maybe that's part of the thinking... I dunno, just seems a weird one. Though I guess they did get Grealish to sit on the bench for a year so not a whole lot different to that.
City never really get into situations where they are involved in back and forths over bids. They table their offer and it's usually accepted or they move on.
Apparently Rice has ‘loads more to his attacking game’, and can play further forward. Which I’ve generally scoffed at when I’ve heard it. Wouldn’t surprise me if Pep actually brought it out of him thoughDon’t get the move for City. Rodri is arguably the best in the league at sitting right in front of the defense and controlling matches from deep. So why spend £100m or more on Rice who occupies the exact same area? When you’ve also just spent £50m on another DM in Phillips who they don’t even use.
Oh that’s news to me. Thanks for clearing up something I already knew.Maybe difficult for you to understand but I will try. Caf is not a single person or poster, it's collection of posters from different locations, supporting different clubs and all with different views.
So go and find the post that you wanted to reply to and then reply to that post, instead of randomly quoting other posters and then moaning about some nonsense that OP doesn't care about.

Just perplexed that we now are admitting defeat the second City are interested. Same as Kane+Madrid. Looks like that never happened and news coming out that Kane wants United.
Just don’t understand the hysteria the second another big team comes in for our targets.
We all want big names and call club inept for not getting them but at the same time shit on our chances of attracting said big names.
Don’t think we can afford to spend £100m+ on a second midfielder when we’re out of Europe. He wouldn’t come here without Champions League football now either I don’t think. The situation with his best mate Mount probably wouldn’t work in our favor either. Are Chelsea not interested in Rice? I seem to remember they were at some point.
Basically spending the money on him because then their nearest contenders from last season won't get the massive upgrade they desperately need. May as well hand them the league now if they get this done.Don’t get the move for City. They got Enzo in Jan and are looking to get Caicedo now. So probably not interested anymore. Are Chelsea not interested in Rice? I seem to remember they were at some point.

So are City going to bench Rodri for Rice or is Rice going to follow the same career path as Kalvin Phillips? Can't see Pep starting both Rodri and Rice. Too defensive.
