Deadline Day! | Confirmed Signings in OP

Moutinho isn't that great. £22m is very expensive, and Modric is a better player.

Agree. Their midfield is much different now with Modric and VdV out and the other three in. Perhaps a better dynamic but 22m is a deadline day price tag. Teams are getting a bit desperate.

  • Kuyt
  • Maxi
  • Bellamy
  • Aquilani
  • Carroll
  • Adam
  • Spearing

  • Pacheco?
  • Cole?

Quite the clearout Rodgers is having.

Moutinho, Dembele and Sigurdsson is a fantastic midfield three IMHO. Spurs are doing a good bit of business here...

I gotta agree. Losing VDV and Modric is a blow for them, but they've replaced them with different types of players. They'll be more resilient in the middle of the park now and much harder to break down.

Still think they could do with a decent forward. I think they'll get Remy with the remaining money imo. If that's the case then they'll have a very strong, young, athletic and skillful core of players.

Yea. I don't like that rule. Don't think the discussions or threads are any better as of result.

It was a great and emotive moment of me egging Alastair, just waiting for him to crack. The Patos was jacked up to 10. Now it's but a clumsy and inelegant set of words.

There should be an exemption for transfer deadline day.

 You'll never make me crack, amateur.

What remaining money? 46.5M on Moutinho, Dembele and Lloris, plus whatever Sigurdsson went for. Say 50M. Plus Adebayor.

No idea what VdV is going for but Modric+VdV is what? 40M?

In Summary
Stoke complete Adam signing
Van der Vaart set for Hamburg move
Sinclair completes move to Man City
De Jong leaves Man City for AC Milan
Dempsey turns down move to Aston Villa
Fulham sign Richardson from Sunderland
Liverpool make bid for Sturridge on loan
Transfer window officially closes 23:00 BST

wtf is happening at Spurs

Now Dos Santos is leaving to Real Mallorca.

New managers want their own boys, don't care much for the ones they inherit because it's not their own choices (unless they are really good).

Happens every time. So much money gets wasted on sideways progression with new managers. Part of the reason I prefer the Director of Football/Head Coach model.

You'll crack when your only signing will be Clint Dempsey. Inspirational.

I shan't. I was already melted down as much as anyone can be on deadline day in January last year. I have been re-forged into something new and sturdier than mankind has seen before.

Yeah that's a really good trio that, we play them next month, our "central midfield", will be in for a long match.

And what happens when your DOF buy shit and get the sack?

I'd think they'd have had some transfer money before the summer started anyway, they spent very little last season. Something Arry was forever moaning about.

Kind of need Spurs to be strong to make sure Liverpool are kept out of the top 4. Can't trust Arsenal to do that.

Now I almost pressed 'submit reply'. Was going to post a witty response with an apt picture that would have further illustrated my point, which was to make fun of your character.

Damn rules!

Another sideways progression. But hopefully, it happens less often than the managerial revolving door.

I'd say Harry is doin all the wheeling and dealin on AVB's behalf, it's mental the muppetry going on over there this year, it's gotta be a record for the mos ins and outs in one window surely?

Deadline day isn't the same without gifs.

Gifs are great but they also ensure that deadline day will be over by the time the page loads.

Gifs can be great but mostly they're just a means by which people can show how unfunny they can be without words.

Please note, I've taken that off the Spurs forum... so might not be true. Can someone with Twitter verify if its on Sky Sports twitter account?

Hadn't realised how many they shipped out and some decent fees there. Indeed, good business overall and could obviously dig into their own pocket for a striker but somehow don't expect Levy to go far bayond keeping the books balanced.

Top four would be nicely tied up if they did get another striker.
