Deadline Day! | Confirmed Signings in OP

Position-wise Sigurdsson is VDV and he'll get them a good number of goals and is much younger. Dembele/Moutinho are replacements for Modric, so I think they've improved by a slim margin.

Pound for pound, neither are as good as Modric, but they aren't so far behind to really have a negative impact. And I think Spurs lacked depth last season, quality, skilled depth. Modric for two very solid players that add a bit of grit to their midfield is good business to me.

I think Spurs have done the best this summer with their signings. Though I still think they are a striker and two solid CBs away from competing against City and ourselves all season.

fecking hell, the Stoke crowd has somehow managed to get worse in the last year.

My fecking eyes. I need a drink.

Portuguese Newspaper Abola saying City have signed Javi Garcia for 25m Pounds.

Great another team signs a midfielder. Scholes might have something to offer, but Giggs not so sure. I almost think Giggs is scared of retiring. Pleased with Kagawa and RVP, though not sure we needed him at time, but do now. Powell hopefully progress, not looked great in reserves. Buttner was a necessity. Hopefully we will strengthen the midfield next year. Maybe Messi is available next year. I know everyone says they have to be better than Scholes or Giggs, but if we are relying on two oldies that is not great. What are our coaching and scouting staff doing, that they don't seem able to find or produce that quality. Sorry just having a rant. I will have calmed down tomorrow. :(:):)

We're not relying on Scholes and Giggs, though.

So that's...

Yaya, Barry, Milner, Rodwell and now Garcia all fighting for a CM position? Although technically Milner does play on the wing as well. So that would mean Rodwell is what? 4th choice, behind Yaya, Barry and Garcia.

Did you forget we signed M'vila?

troll...

I love how in seemingly every break at the moment, there's an ad for classic watches that allow you to go back in time. B19 observes with interest.

You must be watching the posh version of SSN, Al - all I'm getting is Great Ormond Street kids asking for charity donations, in case poverty turns them into Stoke kids.

Well we did rely on Scholes last season. Giggs I can agree with.

Scholes can still make the killer passes. Giggs was a great winger, who could dribble his way past anyone. Now he can't but he can't hit the killer pass either. To me he is just taking a squad place. He has been marvellous, just don't like seeing it disappearing with age.

Sinclair replaces Johnson as City's un-needed bench warming young English winger who will struggle for games before being moved on in a couple of years time...

He obviously feels Cleverley and Anderson have what it takes and wants to give them a run rather than stifle their development by bringing in someone else.

Cleverley yes, how long do we wait for Anderson? Everytime you think he is ready he gets injured. I just cringe everytime Cleverley gets tackled, same with Anderson.

RAWK & RedCafe agree terms for Andy/Erica exchange.

Did someone spike your coffee this morning, Steve?

You're zinging them out today.

Well Giggs still managed 10 assists in 2083mins. That's an assist every 2.3 games. He scored 4 goals as well. To put that into perspective... Valencia got 17 assists in 3498mins, which is an assist every 2.2 games. He scored 6 goals.

So Giggs isn't that far behind Valencia in terms of productivity. We just have to use Giggs in less games but he still deserves his place in the squad imo. Excellent player to bring off the Bench and makes things happen.

Yaya aside thats a very unimpressive midfield. Milner, Barry and Rodwell are average at best. One injury to Yaya and they're screwed.

The Ferg and the evil Glazers made it impossible for my muppety self to be depressed even on this excitement-free deadline day by their sneaky capture of RVP early on, mate. :)

In other news: Furious, three-legged Stoke fans reported to be burning Charlie Adam's shirt.

Adam might actually be good for Stoke. He was a good player at Blackpool. Stoke maybe his level. Don't like to say it, but Liverpool probably too big a club for him.

They might up with no players on the pitch mind you. Adam not the best tackler.
