£950K a week is a bit much (not including bonuses) for a goalkeeper, but he's the only world class player we'll have for the next 25 years, so I guess it's ok...
I love Dave and if anyone deserves 350k a week it's him but what's the point of nearly doubling his wages? He's already the best paid goalkeeper in the history of the game. Which is 65% more than the 2nd best paid keep, Neuer. (130k/week).
Good news and a signal about our ambitions. Should never let our best players go, we are the richest club in the world. Playing for United in itself is huge, playing for United while on massive wages, is certainly a big honor for most players.

all for keeping De Gea, but we should not be paying a keeper that much. 350/400k if the reports are to be believed are horrific and considering Madrid have all bit signed the Roma keeper there is no where else really for him to be going.
He has got to be worth at least 10 times whatever they have been offering Fellaini

no i dont would take Neuer as the best keeper in the world. De gea as good as he is has a lot of things still missing. dont control his box as good as he should from crosses etc, distrubution aint near a VDS or Schmeichel for example. his concentration level could now be questioned when you watch him for spain. had a lot of mistakes for them this season.
Imo nice compensation for being deprived of being the first gk to win 3 straight CLs. Really, he should have left us. I almost feel guilty that he's still here

Thats a fair assessment, but he deserves to be one of United better paid players since he has been our best player for about 4/5 years now.
So when we do things like sign Pogba and Sanchez and DDG performs better than them well, we're going to have to pay up
personally think thats the biggest problem at the club. cant think of another time in the club's history where for such a long time our GK has been our top performer. just dont sit right with me that the top earner in the premiership is a GK.
If that player is the best in his position and consistently contributes to his teams performances each season, why not?
De Gea will never win us a game. might stop us from losing but will never win us a game goals are the hardest thing in football and always beleive they should be the top earner's and getting the top awards

I partially agree with what you are saying, but right now, we don't have any attackers who are tearing teams apart. We do have a GK, who is consistently winning the POTY award and is our only Galactico class player who actually performs like one. Pogba and Sanchez would be the other 2, but right now, they are not performing like Galacticos.

This. He deserves it. I get what Murray is getting at - but the guy deserves it.
Its not just Fifa or FM, traditionally clubs didn't and don't still either. Neuer is on 130k a week, and the record transfer for a keeper is way below that of an outfield player.
EDIT: Seem Neuer is on more than that so I take that back!
Put it this way I would rather we spunk 350k p/w on the DDG's of the world than the reported money we waste on the likes of Young, Shaw and Fellaini etc.
